Digital Power Automation Senior Engineer
• Focusing on the deployment of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems such as Scada / PLC/ PME systems/EcoSUI/EPAS GTW/C264/Different system Architectures - PRP, RSTP
• Customer facing position and work well in a team environment. Will interface directly with contractors and end-users
• Software installation and start-up services, troubleshooting equipment and device communications, and providing customer training for the commissioned system.
• Consulting with customers to determine system operation requirements
• Specifying and purchasing of hardware/software as required by the project
• Installation and upgrading of Schneider systems (PSE, PSO, IONe & PME, EPAS)
• Good understanding of industry standard communication protocols with an emphasis on Modbus, IEC 61850, and BACnet
• Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies, and hardware
• HMI configuration experience, including graphical screen development
• Direct experience with Schneider Electric proprietary software such as Power Monitoring Expert, Power SCADA Expert and Wonderware
• Configuring and commissioning Schneider Electric and 3rd party hardware
• Performing start-up services and system troubleshooting
• Providing training for commissioned systems
• Documenting the as-built system
• Travel up to 75% to customer sites is required.
• Experience working around electrical equipment such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, etc.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis on control systems, Computer Science, or Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of >5 years of experience related to Electrical Power Monitoring Systems; Systems Integration, and/or Energy Management Systems (design, implementation, and support. )
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret contract specifications and electrical drawing packages
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a group setting, team-oriented, self-motivated, and results-driven
• Familiarity with communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, MQTT, DNP3, OPC, etc.).
• Experience with PLCs, RTUs, and other automation systems (Control Expert) with an understanding of control systems and automation hardware (e.g., PLCs, sensors, relays, etc.).
• Experience in EPAS design, configuration, and Testing & Commissioning phases
• Familiarity with SQL and database management systems.
• Strong understanding of industrial and or building automation processes.
• Strong understanding of network architecture and system integration with knowledge of networking and cybersecurity principles for control systems.
• Taken large and medium complex project in operation in IEC 61850
