DGM - Supplier Vigilance Auditor & Project Manager (India)

Mission

To strengthen Schneider Electric's ESG risk‑mitigation across its global supply chain, this senior role leads Supplier Vigilance audits, drives regional audit planning, manages improvement projects, and contributes to broader Procurement Sustainability programs.
As a critical member of the global Vigilance Plan, the role provides leadership, subject‑matter expertise, and digital transformation capability to elevate the maturity and impact of supplier ESG risk management.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead On‑Site Supplier Vigilance Audits
  • Execute the regional audit plan (approx. 35-40 on‑site audits/year)
  • Conduct 2-3‑day audits following Responsible Business Alliance (RBA/EICC) methodology and Schneider's Vigilance standards.
  • Validate findings with suppliers and develop Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) to mitigate key risks across Labor, Ethics, EHS, and environmental domains.
  • Follow up until CAP closure and report progress to regional Procurement leadership.
  • Deliver supplier and internal stakeholder trainings related to EHS, Labor, Ethics, and Sustainability expectations.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of global Vigilance Plan methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Support the definition and validation of new audit standards where needed
  • Represent India in cross-regional alignment workshops, audit norm updates, and governance forums.
  1. Regional Audit Planning & Stakeholder Management
  • Define the yearly regional audit plan with Procurement Directors and Category teams.
  • Manage coordination with internal auditors, external 3rd‑party audit firms, and suppliers to ensure efficient deployment.
  • Prepare audits through supplier profiling and risk analysis (sector, geography, past performance, labor intensity, etc.).
  • Influence and engage cross‑functional teams (Procurement, Sustainability, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain) to support risk‑mitigation actions.
  1. Project Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead projects to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the Supplier Vigilance program.
  • Drive improvements in audit logistics, workflows, reporting quality, supplier performance tracking, and risk segmentation models.
  • Manage timelines, KPIs, cross-functional dependencies, and communication plans for regional or global initiatives.
  1. Digitalization, Data Analytics, AI & Automation
  • Lead or support digital transformation initiatives to modernize the program, including:
    • deployment of digital audit platforms or mobile audit tools
    • improved dashboards (Power BI), analytics, and data‑driven risk‑targeting
    • automation of recurring workflows
    • exploration and piloting of AI use cases (e.g., automated document analysis, NLP‑based supplier risk flagging, intelligent sampling)
  • Train regional teams on new tools and digital audit techniques.
  1. Support Broader Procurement Sustainability Programs

Collaborate with global and regional teams to integrate audit insights and directly contribute to programs such as:
  • Decent Work (living wage, working hours, forced labor, grievance systems)
  • Supplier Decarbonization / Zero Carbon Project (verification of energy/carbon data during audits)
  • Product Chemical Compliance (REACH/RoHS practices review during process audits)
  • Sustainable Packaging & Green Materials
  • Human Rights Due Diligence expansion beyond manufacturing


  1. Coaching & Capability Building
  • Support part-time auditor upskilling programs and onsite audit shadowing for capability growth.

Qualifications

Experience & Technical Skills
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in supplier audits, EHS, Labor Standards, Sustainability, Compliance, or industrial site assessments.
  • Proven experience conducting on‑site industrial audits.
  • Working knowledge of RBA/EICC, labor rights standards (ILO), local labor law, ethics & anti‑corruption controls, ISO 14001/45001 basics.
  • Strong project management abilities: driving timelines, stakeholder alignment, KPI reporting.
  • Skilled in digital tools: Power BI, advanced Excel, workflow tools; familiarity with AI/automation concepts.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and ability to interpret complex audit evidence.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering, EHS, Social Sciences, Supply Chain, or related).
  • Master's degree in Sustainability, Environment, CSR, or Industrial Engineering is an advantage.
  • Lead auditor certifications (ISO 45001/14001/9001), SA8000, or RBA auditor training is a plus.

Languages
  • Fluent English + local language(s).

Travel
    • 40%-70% , mainly domestic, with occasional international travel.
