Role Purpose
Lead and manage end-to-end logistics, customs compliance, warehousing, and stores operations to ensure uninterrupted material flow, regulatory compliance, inventory accuracy, cost optimization, and superior customer service. The role is responsible for developing logistics strategies, customs governance, inventory controls, and warehouse excellence while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Management
- Develop and execute logistics strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Manage inbound, outbound, domestic, and international transportation operations.
- Optimize freight costs through route planning, network design, and carrier management.
- Monitor logistics KPIs including OTIF, freight cost, transit time, vehicle utilization, and delivery performance.
- Manage relationships with transporters, freight forwarders, 3PL providers, and shipping lines.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials to production and timely dispatch of finished goods.
- Drive digitalization and automation initiatives within logistics operations.

Customs & Trade Compliance
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import-export policies, and foreign trade requirements.
- Coordinate with Customs/ SEZ authorities, CHA, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies.
- Manage import and export documentation, duty structures, tariff classifications, and valuation processes including SEZ process.
- Oversee duty optimization programs including FTA, EPCG, Advance Authorization, SEZ, and bonded warehouse operations where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with DGFT, GST, FEMA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Lead customs audits and address compliance risks effectively.
Stores & Warehouse Operations
- Lead stores and warehouse operations ensuring inventory accuracy and material availability.
- Establish robust inventory management and control systems.
- Monitor inventory turns, slow-moving inventory, excess stock, and obsolescence.
- Ensure compliance with FIFO/FEFO principles and material handling standards.
- Drive cycle counting, annual stock verification, and inventory reconciliation.
- Implement warehouse best practices including lean warehousing and 5S.
- Ensure proper storage, preservation, and handling of materials.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop logistics, customs, warehouse, and stores teams.
- Define KPIs and performance metrics for team members.
- Build succession plans and capability development programs.
- Foster a culture of safety, compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Cost & Performance Management
- Prepare and manage logistics and warehouse budgets.
- Drive freight cost reduction and warehouse productivity improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for inventory optimization and working capital reduction.
- Conduct periodic vendor reviews and performance evaluations.
- Implement supply chain best practices and benchmark performance against industry standards.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with EHS, statutory, customs, and company policies.
- Maintain audit readiness and support internal and external audits.
- Drive safety initiatives within warehouse and transportation operations.
- Ensure adherence to ISO, IATF, or relevant quality management standards.

Essential
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Commerce, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
Preferred
- MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, or International Business.
Experience
- 12-15 years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Customs, Warehousing, and Stores Management.
- Experience in Manufacturing, EPC, Turnkey Project deliverable industry are preferred.
- Strong experience in import/export operations and customs regulations.
