DGM - Finance (Inventory Controller)

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Inventory Controller to oversee and manage inventory operations across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in accurate inventory accounting, reconciliation, process optimization, minimal stock losses.

As a Senior Specialist, Business Finance Supply Chain and Equipments, you support financial activities in manufacturing operations, cost management, and logistics. You analyze operational expenses and assist in monitoring equipment investments and supply chain performance. You prepare financial reports, conduct cost analyses, and contribute to process improvements within supply chain operations. You ensure accurate financial records while supporting compliance with established procedures. You work as a specialized finance professional executing operational tasks within the supply chain and equipment domains, applying your expertise in financial analysis. You apply moderate to advanced knowledge of supply chain finance, directly impacting the achievement of results. You make decisions regarding your work and priorities in ambiguous situations, often guided by precedent, prior experience, policies, practices, and procedures. You set work priorities independently, provide guidance to other professionals, and require minimal supervision while seeking guidance when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control inventory provision for slow moving and obsolete inventory
  • Perform month end closing and posting necessary journal entries including Sub Ledger and General Ledger reconciliation
  • Monthly Reporting of Final Inventory Numbers to Central Supply Chain
  • Open Purchase Order tracking and excess material inward analysis
  • Conduct periodic physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical and system inventory (Cycle Count and Annual Count)
  • Analyse inventory data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvement
  • Rolling Forecast - Predictive Analysis for Inventory Provision
  • Monitor Shelf Life expiry and suggest proactive actions to avoid loss on account of shelf life expiry
  • Manage inventory valuation, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Scrap Management - Monthly Price Update, Scrap Governance
  • Support audits by providing accurate inventory records and documentation
  • Monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory and recommend actions such as liquidation or write-offs
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in inventory management, including system enhancements and automation
  • Freight accounting and control.
  • Automation of Digitization of Supply chain related inventory reports. (AI/BOT/RPA)

  • CA (Chartered accountant) /CMA (Cost Accountant)
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or supply chain operations
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (ERP such as SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting principles and stock valuation methods (FIFO, LIFO, Weighted Average)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, data analysis, reporting tools)
  • Experience in handling audits and compliance requirements
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage stakeholder relationships effectively
