Which is where you come in. Working at Schneider Electric means working toward a cleaner, better world. You're part of a global team built on inclusion, mastery, purpose, action, curiosity, and teamwork, turning sustainability ambitions into actions.

The Role: Project Manager

We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Project Manager (PM) to join our team in Malaysia and lead the successful delivery of our Digital Grid product portfolio across the APAC region. Reporting directly to the APAC PMO Leader, the PM will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing end‑to‑end project delivery, including system upgrades and maintenance activities.

In this role, the PM will ensure the effective delivery by coordinating closely with internal teams, regional partners / front offices, and customers to achieve project objectives while maintaining full compliance with SE's Global PMO governance and standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities, a customer-focused mindset, solid financial and budgeting acumen, and a proven record of delivering complex projects in a multi‑country or multi‑cultural environment.

What will you do?

  • Accountable for the end‑to‑end delivery of implementation, upgrade, and maintenance of Digital Grid projects across the APAC region, ensuring all scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements are met.
  • Accountable for project planning activities, including project scoping, scheduling, resource allocation, risk assessment, and stakeholder alignment during the contracting stages.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional project teams, including engineering, product, operations, support teams, regional and global stakeholders to ensure timely and effective execution of project deliverables and alignment of priorities.
  • Serve as the primary customer interface throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring clear communication, expectation management, and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and control project performance and finances, proactively identifying risks, issues, and dependencies while implementing mitigation and corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to PMO governance, processes, reporting standards, and project management best practices as defined by the APAC PMO Leader.
  • Prepare and deliver project documentation, including project plans, status reports, financial reports, change requests, and closure documents.
  • Provide support for tender activities, including reviewing technical and commercial requirements, contributing to project delivery plans, estimating timelines and resources, and ensuring alignment with PMO standards during bid preparation.

What qualifications will make you successful?

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Project Management. A postgraduate qualification or MBA is an advantage.
  • 7+ years of project management experience, preferably in the utility, energy, or industrial software domains.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects across multiple countries or regions.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices (e.g., PMI/PMP, PRINCE2, Agile). PM Professional certification(s) will be required.
  • Technical understanding of utility-related systems, such as GIS, SCADA, ADMS, DERMS, substation automation, or smart grid technologies will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross‑functional engineering and technical teams, and coordinating with global or regional stakeholders.
  • High proficiency in English, with strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills required for engaging customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience managing project finances, including budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience supporting tender/bid processes, including reviewing requirements, contributing to project delivery plans, and supporting cost and schedule estimates.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex, flexible, multicultural environment, including international travel and working beyond regular office hours as required.
  • Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools such as Office 365, MS Project, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent systems will be required.
