Corporate Communications Manager

MISSION

Lead and drive corporate communications for Korea as the country communications lead, ensuring strong alignment with business priorities while strengthening Schneider Electric's brand, reputation, and employee engagement.

Act as a strategic partner to business leaders, shaping communication strategies across internal and external stakeholders. This role requires high autonomy, strong judgment, and the ability to navigate complex and evolving business environments, delivering impactful and measurable communication outcomes.

In addition, this role will elevate Schneider Electric Korea's external visibility through strategic PR, thought leadership, media and social channel management, while ensuring integrated execution across owned, earned, and internal channels.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

1. External Communications (EC) & PR Leadership: 50%

  • Develop and execute integrated external communications strategy (PR, media, executive profiling, stakeholder engagement)
  • Lead strategic public relations initiatives to strengthen corporate reputation and brand positioning
  • Drive thought leadership programs aligned with key priorities (e.g., sustainability, digital transformation, AI/data center, smart factory)
  • Build and manage relationships with media, government bodies, and industry associations
  • Drive proactive storytelling and content development (press releases, bylines, interviews, executive profiling)
  • Provide strategic counsel to Korea leadership on communications positioning and reputation management
  • Monitor public policy, media landscape, and market sentiment to deliver insights to leadership

2. Media & Social Channel Management: 30%
  • Own overall media and social communications strategy, ensuring integration across earned, owned, and shared channels
  • Lead social media strategy and execution (LinkedIn, corporate channels, key digital platforms)
  • Manage PR, social, and digital agencies including briefing, performance tracking, and capability development
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and high-quality execution across all external channels
  • Monitor and optimize media performance, share of voice, engagement metrics, and reputation indicators
  • Align social content with thought leadership, campaigns, and executive visibility initiatives

3. Internal Communications (IC): 20%
  • Define and execute the Korea internal communications strategy aligned with global and regional priorities
  • Localize and cascade global messaging for relevance, clarity, and consistency
  • Deliver engaging communication across IC platforms (newsletter, intranet, social platforms) to improve reach and effectiveness.
  • Lead end-to-end execution of townhalls, leadership messaging, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Support transformation program by designed and executing change communication plans
  • Partner closely with global IC team to ensure alignment and adoption of key program and collaborate with HR to strenghen employer branding and EVP communication

4. Corporate & Strategic Programs
  • Lead communication for community, sustainability, and philanthropic programs
  • Support Innovation Hub, SE Academy, and capability-building program promotion
  • Drive internal and external awareness and stakeholder engagement on key initiatives
  • Represent Schneider Electric in CSR and industry-related platforms

5. Crisis Communication & Reputation Management (Cross-functional)
  • Lead crisis communication and sensitive issue management
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership for reputational risk mitigation
  • Ensure readiness and alignment across stakeholders during high-risk situations

REQUIREMENTS

Education

University degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

Job-Related Experience

Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.

Business Understanding
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities complemented by effective execution skills.
  • Excellent writing, storytelling, and presentation capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and operate within a matrixed organisation.
  • Ability to work independently, self-manage, multitask, and quickly acquire new skills.
  • Proven team player who can contribute effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience in multinational corporations (MNCs) and the technology sector is advantageous.
  • Strong experience managing PR/social/digital agencies
  • Experience in B2B industries (preferred: technology, energy, industrial, or consulting sectors)


OTHER COMPETENCIES

Good command of both spoken and written Korean and English. Strong interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills are also essential.
