The Contract Manager serves as a strategic business partner to project, sales, and operational teams across the full contract lifecycle-from tender development through project execution and closeout. This role is responsible for identifying, mitigating, and managing contractual, commercial, financial, and compliance risks while enabling successful project delivery and margin performance. The Contract Manager ensures alignment with company policies, supports negotiations, administers contractual obligations, and promotes best practices in contract governance, change management, and claims.
What will you do:
Contract Strategy & Tender Phase
- Lead contract reviews during the tender and proposal phase, including terms and conditions, risk allocation, and contractual structure
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal, commercial, financial, and operational risks in collaboration with subject matter experts
- Support and participate in negotiations with customers, partners, and key subcontractors
- Ensure appropriate "back‑to‑back" terms with suppliers and subcontractors where applicable
- Confirm final contract alignment with approved commercial positions prior to execution
- Conduct contract handover to execution teams, highlighting key obligations, risks, and opportunities

Contract Administration & Execution Phase
- Administer and monitor contracts throughout project execution to ensure rights and obligations are met and documented
- Advise project teams on contractual interpretation, compliance, and risk/opportunity management
- Identify, prepare, submit, and negotiate change orders, variation requests, and claims with customers and subcontractors
- Draft and manage contractual correspondence and formal notices
- Participate in project reviews and provide guidance on mitigation actions, dispute avoidance, and resolution strategies
- Support definition and implementation of change order and claims management processes to protect margin and schedule
Financial, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, governance requirements, and applicable laws and regulations
- Coordinate with internal functions on tax, bonding, insurance, customs, and financial mechanisms (e.g., letters of credit, bank guarantees)
- Support payment applications, invoicing, and financial reconciliation activities as needed
- Assist project teams with forecasting related to variations, claims, and contract performance
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Actively promote a strong contract management culture focused on risk awareness, accountability, and best practices
- Coach and support project managers and stakeholders on contract management principles
- Mentor and develop Contract Administrators or junior contract staff, as applicable
- Deploy and reinforce standard tools, templates, systems, and processes
- Contribute to training initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across the organization
What will make you successful:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Professional certification in Contract Management a plus (e.g., CFCM, CCCM, WCC/IACCM)
- Significant experience in contract management within a project-based, EPC, construction, infrastructure, or similar environment
- Experience supporting complex, high‑value contracts with government, public sector, or regulated customers preferred
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously in a matrixed, fast‑paced environment
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across functions and geographies

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $117,600.00 - $176,400.00 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees, inclusive of medical (with member reward points), dental, vision, and basic life insurance, Benefit Bucks (credits to apply towards your benefits) flexible work arrangements, paid family leaves, 401(k) + match, well-being and recognition (including service anniversary) programs, 12 holidays per year, 15 days of paid time off per year (pro-rated in the first year of employment based on start date) , opportunity to purchase company stock (eligibility depends on start date), and military leave benefits.
