Commissioning Engineer

Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer for Individual Site to support the Secure Power Modular Data Center Business.

This role involves hands-on testing, documentation, and collaboration across engineering, production, and service teams to ensure high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and document Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Factory Witness Tests (FAT)
  • Perform project start-up activities in the factory and verify system performance before shipment
  • Support production and service departments with technical expertise by powering up and testing power connection before moving to final testing
  • Conduct pre-energization checks including HiPot, Ground Continuity, and Insulation Resistance tests
  • Complete functional test reports (L2, L3, L4)
  • Ensure power sign-off by cross-functional teams and complete all commissioning Test reports
  • Close the loop on testing process by documenting finding to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives


Who will you report to:

You will report to the Red Oak Plant Manager. This role is an onsite position. You are required to report to the Red Oak, TX facility 5 days a week.

Qualifications:

  • Electrical & Mechanical Systems Knowledge
    • Understanding of power distribution, UPS systems, HVAC, and fire suppression systems.
    • Familiarity with mechanical systems such as chillers, CRAC units, and piping layouts
  • PLC Programming & Control Systems
    • Ability to program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
    • Experience with SCADA systems for monitoring and control
  • . Building Management Systems (BMS)

  • Setup and integration of BMS for environmental control and energy efficiency
  • AutoCAD & P&ID Interpretation
    • Proficiency in reading and modifying engineering drawings and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Testing & Validation Procedures
    • Conducting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
    • Executing functional performance tests and compiling detailed reports
  • HVAC Design & Commissioning
    • Knowledge of airflow, ductwork, and thermal load calculations.
    • Ensuring systems meet design intent and energy efficiency standards
  • Energy Management & VFD Setup
    • Implementing Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and optimizing energy consumption
