Codes & Standards Strategy Leader
For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $175,000 - $245,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic, influential leader to animate and drive a holistic Codes & Standards (C&S) strategy for North America. This role will shape the direction of Electrical Safety, Installation & Commissioning, Digitization, Sustainability, and the New Energy Landscape (NEL), while ensuring alignment with regional and global business priorities.
You will serve as the organization's thought leader in codes and standards-advancing strategic positions, influencing key external organizations, and elevating our industry presence through publications, speaking engagements, and committee leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead the development and execution of an agile, end‑to‑end C&S strategy across all major pillars (Electrical Safety, Installation & Commissioning, Digitization, Sustainability, NEL).
- Drive cross‑functional collaboration with C&S slice leaders, leagues, and global marketing to ensure unified strategy and advocacy.
- Build and maintain a system of management and collaboration platform to ensure transparency, alignment, and knowledge-sharing.
- Ensure all C&S initiatives directly support the NAM Hub strategic roadmap.
External Influence & Industry Engagement
- Represent the organization across major standards bodies, including UL, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA, NEC and other national or international committees.
- Influence codes and standards development to secure favorable industry positions, shaping regulatory direction for key end markets.
- Coordinate participation in technical committees, industry conferences, working groups, and standards-development activities.
Thought Leadership
- Drive long-term strategy for the organization's presence in external codes and standards arenas.
- Publish white papers, technical articles, and thought-leadership materials that advance industry dialogue and reinforce brand leadership.
- Serve as a featured speaker at conferences, symposiums, and industry events.
- Partner with global marketing to develop and maintain a robust thought‑leadership program.

Education, Training & Internal Enablement
- Lead education and continuous training efforts across the NAM Hub, Power Products, and Power Systems.
- Provide consolidated, actionable updates on code changes for product owners and chapter leaders.
- Ensure timely dissemination of insights that support product strategy, compliance, and competitiveness.
Cross-Divisional & Global Collaboration
- Exchange C&S insights, progress, and best practices with other divisions and global stakeholders.
- Promote global consistency in C&S alignment and influence activities.

Required
- 10+ years of experience in product management, engineering, or code‑related domains.
- Strong understanding of electrical technologies-both current and emerging-including applications across key end markets (e.g., power distribution, microgrids, data centers, industrial facilities, EV infrastructure, renewables, and advanced power systems).
- Prior exposure to codes and standards bodies such as UL, IEEE, NEMA, and NFPA.
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills across internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering; MBA preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence in a matrixed, multinational environment (US, Canada, Mexico).
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentation to senior audiences.
- Proven project, process, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, embrace change, and advocate for continuous improvement.
Highly Desirable
- Direct experience influencing industry committees or shaping codes and standards.
- Experience collaborating closely with product managers on C&S topics.
- Record of published technical papers, conference presentations, or recognized thought-leadership contributions.
Travel: 25-45% - Expected 1 week a month
