Chief Accountant
Mission:
As Chief Accountant, you will play a key role in our company based in Sofia (commercial part) and Plovdiv (factory), supporting its day-to-day operations and long-term, stable growth. At the same time, this role operates in close connection with Schneider Electric's global structures, offering a broad perspective and the opportunity for international cooperation.
This is an independent role with oversight of a small local accounting team, offering strong autonomy and meaningful impact on key financial areas.
The position is well-established and mature, built on structured and robust finance and accounting processes that provide a solid foundation for further optimization and continuous improvement.
What will you do:
- Manage and coordinate the work of the Local Accounting Team
- Cooperate with the Accounting Competency Centers, monitor their performance, and propose corrective actions where necessary
- Ensure compliance with group accounting and tax procedures
- Ensure adherence to internal control standards in cooperation with the Internal Control team
- Ensure timely and accurate Group reporting
- Prepare and present the reports and analysis during regular review meetings (P&L review, Balance sheet review)
- Prepare statutory financial statements and coordinate the external audit process
- Prepare and submit tax returns in accordance with applicable regulations (CIT, VAT, WHT, etc.)
- Cooperate with the Tax Manager and external tax advisors in preparation of the transfer pricing documentation
- Actively support the business by identifying accounting and tax risks
- Take an active role in the implementation of Group projects at local level, as well as local initiatives, particularly those driven by legal requirements.

What qualifications will make you successful:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Extensive experience in accounting and tax compliance, preferably including prior experience as Chief Accountant
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP would be an advantage)
- Experience in finance transformation projects is highly valued
- Openness, flexibility, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Fluent Bulgarian.
