About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Category Buyer to join our Europe Procurement team . In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of suppliers and ensuring the best Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) conditions for our European Manufacturing Sites.

You will play a key role in executing the category strategy, driving supplier performance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization in a dynamic, international environment.

Your Responsibilities

Aligned with the Category Strategy, you will:

  • Ensure strong operational relationships with suppliers and foster healthy competition within the supplier panel
  • Manage RFQs (Requests for Quotation) and lead supplier selection in line with strategic objectives
  • Lead supplier negotiations and ensure optimal commercial terms and contract coverage
  • Drive annual productivity targets, supplier performance (quality & delivery), and sustainability goals
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through Value Engineering and supplier optimization
  • Lead supplier concentration initiatives while proactively managing and mitigating supply risks
  • Act as the first point of escalation for supplier-related issues or crises
  • When acting as Schneider Supplier Leader (SSL), lead global supplier strategies, including:
    • Global negotiations
    • Should-cost analysis
    • Lean initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders (Business Units, Supply Chain, Engineering, etc.)
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement tools and data quality


Your Profile
  • Master's degree in Purchasing with 3+ years of experience , or Engineering degree with 5+ years of purchasing experience
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Category strategy
    • Total Cost of Ownership
    • Contracting, legal and risk aspects
  • Knowledge of quality and supply chain processes
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working with digital tools and procurement systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different functions and seniority levels
  • Strong cross-cultural awareness and experience in international environments
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
