BMS Graphics Engineer

The BMS Graphics Engineer is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining graphical interfaces used in Building Management Systems (BMS). This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to ensure accurate representation of building systems, support project teams, and deliver high‑quality graphics for commercial and industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

BMS Graphics Development Engineer

  • Develop, edit, and maintain graphical user interfaces for various BMS platforms.
  • Create accurate visual representations of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Utilize BMS-specific graphics tools such as EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO) graphics editor or StruxureWare.

Technical & Software Execution
  • Apply graphic design tools (Corel, Autodesk 3Ds Max, or similar) in daily tasks.
  • Use engineering drawings to correctly locate equipment, labels, and system components.
  • Ensure graphics meet customer and industry standards.

System Integration & Troubleshooting
  • Understand and apply basic programming or configuration concepts for BACnet, Modbus, or related automation protocols.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to graphics integration within BMS platforms.

Project Coordination & Time Management
  • Prioritize tasks based on project schedules and testing timelines.
  • Balance workloads across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Meet weekly work-hour expectations and all project deliverable deadlines.

Team Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with controls engineers, project managers, commissioning teams, and programmers.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with teammates and customers.
  • Proactively ask questions, request resources, and offer ideas or improvements.

Documentation & Continuous Growth
  • Maintain organized notes, task updates, and hour logs.
  • Create supporting documentation such as templates, components, instructions, training materials, and presentations.
  • Present graphics or system overviews to internal teams or customers as needed.
  • Set and pursue personal and professional development goals.


What Qualifications will make you successful:

  • Experience developing graphics for BMS platforms.
  • Proficiency with Corel, Autodesk 3Ds Max, or similar graphic tools.
  • Familiarity with EBO graphics editor, StruxureWare EBO, or other BMS graphics environments.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Basic understanding of BACnet, Modbus, or similar communication protocols.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities.
  • Awareness of industry standards and customer-specific requirements.

  • Experience on large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
  • Familiarity with energy dashboards, KPI visualization, or floor plan graphics.
  • Autodesk / 3D modeling experience.
  • Experience working with Smartsheet or similar project management tools.
