Automation and Controls Engineer

Join our dynamic team as 1st Shift, Automation and Controls Engineer, in our Oxford O faclity.
What will you do?
- Design, develop, and modify automation and control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes
- Program and maintain PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks (new installations and upgrades)
- Diagnose and resolve control system issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability
- Support commissioning, startup, and validation of new equipment and production lines
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics, I/O lists, and control documentation
- Implement process improvements focused on safety, quality, throughput, and cost reduction
- Provide on-site technical support during production issues, breakdowns, and planned maintenance
- Collaborate with mechanical, process, and quality engineers to integrate automation solutions
- Ensure control systems comply with applicable safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Train maintenance and operations personnel on control systems and automation best practices
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, or TPM
Who will you report to? Methods & Maintenance Manager
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, Computer, Robotics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in automation and manufacturing industry.
- Experience with common PLC platforms (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or equivalent)
- HMI/SCADA development and troubleshooting experience
- Familiarity with industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, DeviceNet, etc.)
- Robotics integration and programming experience
- Vision systems, motion control, and servo systems knowledge
