Automation and Controls Engineer

Join our dynamic team as 1st Shift, Automation and Controls Engineer, in our Oxford O faclity.

What will you do?

• Design, develop, and modify automation and control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes
• Program and maintain PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks (new installations and upgrades)
• Diagnose and resolve control system issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability
• Support commissioning, startup, and validation of new equipment and production lines
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, I/O lists, and control documentation
• Implement process improvements focused on safety, quality, throughput, and cost reduction
• Provide on-site technical support during production issues, breakdowns, and planned maintenance
• Collaborate with mechanical, process, and quality engineers to integrate automation solutions
• Ensure control systems comply with applicable safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
• Train maintenance and operations personnel on control systems and automation best practices
• Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, or TPM

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, Computer, Robotics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in automation and manufacturing industry.
• Experience with common PLC platforms (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or equivalent)
• HMI/SCADA development and troubleshooting experience
• Familiarity with industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, DeviceNet, etc.)
• Robotics integration and programming experience
• Vision systems, motion control, and servo systems knowledge
