Job Description
For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $65,000 - $75,000 per year, plus commission.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This Associate Client Development Manager will support our Financial Services and Private Equity segment. The ideal candidate will be located in Louisville, KY but there is consideration for candidates within the US that are within a reasonable distance of an airport. Travel is required to support sales activity and industry conferences (up to 25%).
What will you do in the role?
The Associate Client Development Manager role is a market-facing, early-career sales professional focused on supporting the business development of Schneider Electric's Sustainability Services consulting and technology offerings to executive-level stakeholders within Financial Services and Private Equity customers. This role is designed for individuals eager to grow into strategic, client-facing positions, by learning through direct collaboration with senior sales leaders, engaging in outbound prospecting, and contributing to key sales initiatives. This role reports to the Director of Business Development with direction provided by a senior business development leader.
- Prospect and convert leads into profitable and ongoing business relationships
- Own initial outreach and introductory meetings to convert leads into actionable client engagements
- Work with Schneider Electric's portfolio of offerings to develop customized solutions that address the customer's business needs
- Support the senior business development leader in establishing and executing on the sales strategy for the specific segment
- Understand our customers' long-term strategic business needs while building long-term relationships - higher and wider - within their organization; a key focus is on selling new solutions to existing clients
- Support the development of sales proposals. Enlists the support of solutions architects and operations specialists, implementation resources, delivery resources, and other sales and management resources as needed -- either proactively or in response to RFPs
- Support the development of new collateral or proposal content to accelerate sales in the specified segment
- Meet targeted personal performance goals as determined by leadership
- Support the negotiation and execution of contracts for Climate Change, Climate Risk, Supply Chain and other sustainability services offerings at the enterprise levels of some of the world's greatest companies
- Develop, foster, own, and close key assigned customer opportunities, shepherding the client and deal through the full sales cycle
- Collaborate with colleagues, including sales, marketing and operations teams, on ways to continuously improve offerings and go-to-market strategies
- Communicate and interact with business decision-makers at all levels to identify needs and requirements -- as well as emerging market needs and opportunities
- Lead and move assigned prospects through the sales cycle
- Maintain prospect (CRM: Salesforce.com) database information personally and in support of senior business development leader
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Minimum Bachelors degree required.
- Experience: Experience working in one of the following services industries is valuable:
- Energy and sustainability consulting
- Private Equity
- Financial Institutions
- Attitude: Able to consistently demonstrate drive and initiative - actively seeking out learning opportunities, pursuing new prospects, and contributing to sales efforts with energy and ambition.
- Resilience: Ability to navigate a dynamic and often complex sales environment with persistence and adaptability - learning from setbacks, sales rejection, and staying focused on long-term goals
- Knowledge: A working understanding of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, supply chain sustainability challenges and science-based emission reduction targets is preferred
- Self-starter: Able to rapidly comprehend client demands and Schneider Electric solutions, and to align the two to ensure sales performance at or above assigned targets
- Persistence: Passion for research and lead generation: persistence in following up of leads and movement of prospects through the sales cycle
- Digital Citizen: A digital leader within the Microsoft Office environment (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) and professional social media (e.g. Linked in, etc.)
