Assembly Process Senior Engineer

The Assembly process sr. Engineer works in Agile mode withtin a team dedicated to new offer development. This position oversees product development from start to bottom. This position focuses on development of equipment and tooling specification, qualification of equipment, line architecture design methodology to implement new process line, cost optimization, etc.

What will you do:

  • This position reports to the Assembly Industrialization Chapter leader inside of Power Products Industrialization division.
  • Provide new equipment and new line development.
  • Integration of new product specification.
  • Upgrades in components of existant products.
  • Works with local & global teams.
  • Works with crossfunctional team members as part of the Offer Lifecycle Management.
  • Ensure the profitability of investments adapted to the needs of optimization and development process.
  • Guide the choice of designers by providing industrial and logistical requirements.
  • Ensure the capacities adaptation according to the dedicated tools (CAMA, CORIM, Bridge ..), internal or external.

    • Molded Case Circuit Breakers - MCCBs
    • Low Voltage ETO equipment
    • LV busway
    • Kit-based equipment (FlezSet, breaker kits, etc.).

Responsibilities:

Health & Safety Ability to develop safe working conditions and/or practices by utilizing Health & Safety concepts, programs, processes and procedures. Manufacturing Equipment Design Ability to develop specifications, approve designs, realize and qualify manufacturing equipment/tooling. Manufacturing New Product Design Ability to apply Design for Assembly and Manufacturing approach in new product design (design simplification - poka yoke - feasibility - testability - manufacturing scenarii) to optimize new product manufacturability and its manufacturing cost. Manufacturing Process & Lay-Out Design Ability to design and implement manufacturing processes for new offers allowing the best operational performance in safety and environment, quality, service, costs and capital engaged. Design to Cost Ability to use all tools, methods and rules for cost evaluation and optimization of designed items. Digital Acumen Ability to understand and integrate related technologies into the way of efficiently work a digital environment around planning, innovation, operation, measuring results, interacting with customers and engaging employees, and ultimately creating differentiated business value. Digital Acumen relies on Internet literacy, ICT (Information and Communications Technology) literacy, media literacy and information literacy. Influence and Convince Present sound arguments with energy and conviction. Understand and respond to others' needs and agendas. Leverage own network to build support. Manufacturing Supply Chain & Planning Ability to identify, understand and optimize E2E flows (from order to customers or from Supplier to customer) through system settings and capacity management to meet customer demand in accordance with SPS principles. Quality Control and Inspection Ability to measure the quality on incoming components and manufactured products, including software testing, during the process and as finished goods. What will make you successful:
  • Proven track record in manufacturing assembly process engineering and automation systems
  • Deep understanding of assembly operations, including welding, riveting, adhesive applications, and quality control processes
  • Strong technical expertise in SPS principles and manufacturing feasibility analysis
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellence in problem-solving and process optimization skills

Requirements:

  • +5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in a production enviroment.
  • Tools and equipment development
  • Novice-Medium level of expertise in automation tools, PLC's understanding, etc.
  • Strong communication skills in english.
  • Strong understanding of an operation & supply chain environment.
  • Deliver results oriented.
  • Ability to Influence & Convince
  • Proven ability of work among different cultures, teams, different functions, etc.
  • Good level of digital accumen.
  • Oriented to deliver sustainable results.
  • 50-70% of time will be traveling to different sites and countries among US, MX and Canada. Some times can be China, Europe, etc.
