The Role:

We are in search of a BMS/EPMS Application Engineer who will lead the technical execution of Building Management System and Electrical Power Management System projects across Malaysia. In this role, you will act as the primary technical interface for customers, drive end‑to‑end engineering-from design, programming, and system integration to testing, commissioning, and documentation-and ensure solutions are delivered to the highest standards. You will collaborate closely with global teams, manage technical risks, support variation orders, and contribute to project efficiency, profitability, and overall customer satisfaction.

What will you do?

  • Lead the deployment of Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS) applications across East Asia Japan.
  • Serve as the main technical contact for customers, managing discussions, clarifications, engineering deliverables, progress updates, and leading FAT activities.
  • Develop and secure customer approval for basic and detailed solution designs in line with contract requirements, maximizing technical performance and project profitability.
  • Work independently while collaborating with global teams and adhering to global engineering standards.
  • Deliver key engineering outputs including system architecture, interfacing points, point schedules, control drawings, valve/equipment schedules, control logic, database generation, graphics, and system configuration.
  • Manage all technical aspects of the project-design, integration, testing, FAT, installation, commissioning, and warranty-ensuring compliance with the approved design.
  • Develop and implement PLC, SCADA, and DDC controls (preferably Schneider) for redundant HVAC system architectures.
  • Apply strong knowledge of HVAC systems (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, CRACs), mechanical systems, electrical systems (LV/MV/HV), fire alarm, plumbing, ventilation, and other related systems.
  • Ensure proper preparation and management of all project documentation, including RFIs, design documents, engineering/commissioning reports, and O&M manuals.
  • Support the Project Manager with daily/weekly progress tracking, reporting, and escalation of issues or delays.
  • Collaborate closely with customers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to achieve project milestones, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Continuously improve engineering efficiency by applying standards, tools, best practices, and lessons learned across controls strategy, programming, graphics, testing, and documentation.
  • Ensure effective project execution within budget by identifying risks, optimizing technical solutions, and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Identify and manage scope changes, supporting the Project Manager in defining impacts, preparing quotations, and securing variation orders.
  • Oversee technical deliverables from subcontractors, ensuring clear scope definition and effective progress monitoring.
  • Proactively highlight potential technical issues or feasibility concerns and provide timely reporting to the Project Manager and management.


What qualifications will make you successful?
  • Min Bachelor / Master in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or any other related Degree
  • Min 5 years leading technical projects or as Solution Application Engineer for large and international Customer projects.
  • Min 5 years in technical field of expertise (PLC, SCADA, DDC Systems)
  • Knowledge of data center and/or other mission critical facilities design, operation and maintenance.
  • Proven ability to lead with agility functional and remote technical team having different fields of expertise
  • Proficient in the English language and able to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  • Able to work under pressure with tight schedules
  • Able to communicate in concise and synthetic manner complex technical issues/topics
  • Able to take decisions in complex context based on imperfect/missing conditions
  • Proven expertise OR ability to learn and excel very fast with new BMS/EMS platforms
  • Excellent problem solving and organization skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and company colleagues.
