Application Engineer
We are looking for a proactive and customer-oriented Application Engineer to join our team. This is a broad and varied role that combines technical expertise, customer interaction, project delivery, and problem-solving. You will play a key role throughout the entire project lifecycle, from understanding customer requirements and developing solutions to implementation, commissioning, and ongoing support.
As an Application Engineer, you will be part of the Automation Solutions development department. Automation Solutions is part of Process Automation and is a division of Schneider Electric. To meet our customers' vision, we have created the Empiri concept, which consists of MES (Empiri X3), SCADA (Aveva Plant SCADA), PLC (Schneider PLCs), and electrical components that together form an intelligent process system. In addition to the MES system, we also deliver other applications to meet our customers' needs. Our delivery is a comprehensive undertaking, from design to support, and you'll be involved in every aspect of it.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop, and maintain application software solutions, primarily using .NET technologies.
- Work with databases and support the integration of software and data systems.
- Engage directly with customers to understand their requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
- Support project execution from concept through commissioning and handover.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, project, and support teams.
- Take ownership of technical tasks and drive activities forward independently.
- Contribute to team development and help create a positive, collaborative working environment.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in software development, ideally with .NET technologies.
- Understanding of databases and data-driven applications.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in working with customers.
- A proactive and outgoing personality with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to balance technical problem-solving with customer-facing responsibilities.
- Experience working throughout different phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable taking initiative.
- Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commissioning, implementation, or deployment of software solutions.
- Exposure to industrial, technical, or engineering environments.
- Project delivery experience.
- Leadership potential and an interest in mentoring or guiding colleagues.
