Within our R&D Software organization, you will join an Agile SQUAD responsible for building software solutions based on modern web technologies and back‑end microservices, deployed across multiple operating systems and industrial environments.
We are looking for a Software Architect - Web & Microservices to act as a technical reference and architectural driver, contributing both to hands‑on software engineering and to long‑term technical direction.
Your Role
As a Software Architect, you are responsible for the software architecture within your SQUAD and act as a technical reference in development, mainly on web front‑end technologies and/or back‑end microservices.
You own key technical topics throughout the entire product lifecycle, from early technical studies to industrialization, ensuring that solutions are robust, scalable, secure, and aligned with Schneider Electric standards.
This is an individual contributor role with strong technical influence, not a people management position.
Your Responsibilities
Software Architecture & Technical Ownership
- Define and evolve software architectures for web applications and microservices.
- Ensure robust, scalable, and reliable designs across multiple operating systems and platforms.
- Influence technical orientations within the R&D center, contributing to platforms, building blocks, and future offers.
Product & Engineering Lifecycle
- Support the Technical Product Owner (TPO) in translating customer needs, feedback, and demos into technical solutions.
- Lead technical specifications and actively contribute to software engineering activities.
- Assess technical feasibility and size development efforts, including technical stories and technical debt.
- Participate in and facilitate technical studies, design reviews, and development discussions.
Quality, Security & Processes
- Ensure proper application of Schneider Electric processes such as SDL, SAFETY, and software quality standards throughout the product lifecycle.
- Promote best practices in maintainability, performance, and cybersecurity.
Expertise, Innovation & Knowledge Sharing
- Develop strong expertise in one or more strategic software domains.
- Drive innovation and share knowledge across teams and technical communities.
- Contribute to capitalization of know‑how and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
Your Profile
- Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Around 5 years of experience or more as a Software Developer and/or Software Architect. - Experience working in Agile environments.
- Ability to operate effectively in international and multi‑site teams.
- Knowledge of Schneider Electric products or systems is a plus.
Your Skills
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with technologies and tools such as Angular, Node.js, .NET Core, Docker, DevOps.
- Solid knowledge of front‑end and back‑end architectures, frameworks, and migration of solutions in industrial environments.
- Awareness of cybersecurity fundamentals, including user rights and access management.
Professional Skills
- Strong technical influence and architectural mindset.
Autonomous, rigorous, and creative approach to problem‑solving. - Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
- French is a plus, but not required.
