With more than 30 years of global experience and delivery hubs in Manchester, Houston, Singapore, Madrid, and Hyderabad, our APC organization supports customers across refining, petrochemicals, power generation, pulp & paper, water, and food & beverage industries.

Role Mission

The APC Consultant will be responsible for deploying on-line multivariable control and optimization strategies using Schneider Electric's APC technology suite. Typical assignments last 3-6 months, with up to 50% time at customer sites (primarily in EMEA, but may also be global). The objective is to deliver measurable improvements through:

• Increased production yield

• Reduced energy consumption

• Enhanced environmental and regulatory compliance

Usually working as Schneider Electric's sole representative at site, the consultant will analyze customer requirements and develop solutions that will meet or exceed the expectations.

The consultant must be comfortable working in both control room and board room environments, without day-to-day supervision by senior colleagues. It is important that the APC consultant is comfortable interacting with employees of all levels and positions including the executive leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute Advanced Process Control (APC) projects using Schneider Electric's APC platform, working independently and representing the company on site. Typical projects last 3-6 months, with up to 50% of the time spent on site. In most cases, the consultant will be the sole Schneider Electric representative. Key qualities required include self confidence, independent thinking and persistence.

• Support Sales activities, including customer presentations, Benefit Studies, business case development, project estimation, and proposal preparation.

• Drive innovation, contributing to new solution initiatives and identifying opportunities to expand APC business value.

• Provide technical support to existing customers, diagnosing issues and ensuring long-term solution performance.

• Participate in technology development, including software testing, reporting issues, and suggesting functional enhancements.

• Engage with the APC and control engineering community, presenting at conferences and contributing to Schneider Electric's technical leadership.

• Develop broader knowledge of Schneider Electric DCS solutions and the AVEVA optimization portfolio.

Travel requirement: Up to 50%, mostly within EMEA.

Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

• 5+ years of industrial experience in process industries.

• Strong experience with APC technologies such as EcoStruxure APC, Aspen DMC, Honeywell Forge APC, Yokogawa PACE, etc.

• Knowledge in dynamic process modeling, Model Predictive Control (MPC), and AI-driven optimization.

• Familiarity with process control systems, instrumentation, DCS, historians, and industrial communication interfaces.

• Competence in software applications, Windows architectures, networking, and cybersecurity.

• Strong independence, motivation, analytical mindset, persistence, and customer-facing skills.

• Willingness to travel and work in industrial environments.
