What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking an early career R&D laboratory support General Technologist to support lab operations and logistics.

You will be asked to work on a high-performance research and development team to perform prototype and low-quantity production tasks producing flight test assets.You will engage in project efforts that are highly collaborative and team oriented in nature, working directly with technologists, staff members, and production operators across centers.

On any given day, you may be called on to:
  • Develop and maintain the lab aspects of Work Planning and Control Documentation.
  • Maintain bills of materials for build types with support from design engineering.
  • Provide procurement support for parts and tools..
  • Receive, inspect and inventory parts, tools and fasteners for builds.
  • Maintain training summaries for all team members who are performing assembly work.
  • Support of test systems integration and shipping.
  • Coordinate logistics of materials and test articles, both receiving and outgoing
  • Coordinate and track the progress of multiple builds, record data electronically, and process information on unclassified and classified networks.
  • Handle classified components appropriately, adhering to movement requirements, and following all security protocols.
  • Fully support laboratory operations by maintaining equipment, ordering supplies, coordinating facilities work, documenting safe work practices, and complying with security protocols.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range:

$63,800 - $123,400

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:
  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of common Microsoft office tools, such as Powerpoint, Excel.
  • Active DOE Q-level security clearance (or DoD equivalent).

Qualifications We Desire:
  • Experience with Confluence and SharePoint tools.
  • Skill in scheduling meetings for work planning and execution.

About Our Team:

Enabling Aerospace Systems (Department 5414) at Sandia National Laboratories provides high quality, enabling aerospace systems to a variety of customers that support a broad range of ground and flight tests in nuclear deterrence and military systems development programs. Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
