Trailhead is Salesforce's learning engine, powering how millions of Trailblazers build skills, earn credentials, and prepare for what's next. As Trailhead evolves toward more agentic, AI-assisted learning experiences, design plays a critical role in making complex systems feel clear, human, and approachable across web, Slack, and mobile. We're building a new team in Hyderabad to accelerate this work, and this role is a key part of that effort.

We're looking for a User Interface/User Experience Lead to drive design execution for Slack, web, and native mobile (iOS and Android) within the Trailhead ecosystem.

• Own end-to-end design for Trailblazer Community Slack and web experiences, Trailhead Slack surfaces, and Trailhead GO mobile apps (iOS and Android), as mobile priorities arise.
• Partner with PMs and engineers from discovery through delivery, shaping flows, interactions, and UI details.
• Translate complex requirements into clean, simple, and usable experiences that scale across platforms.
• Design within and across multiple design systems, including Slack patterns, iOS Human Interface Guidelines, and Android Material Design.
• Apply strong design system rigor, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and reuse across surfaces.

• Balance platform-native behavior with Trailhead's broader experience principles.

• Deliver high-quality interaction design with clear information hierarchy and thoughtful motion where appropriate.
• Maintain a strong bar for accessibility, considering inclusive design principles in all work.
• Make final design decisions for the work you own, aligning with partners and resolving most issues directly as part of day-to-day delivery.
• Sweat the details while still moving with speed and pragmatism.

• Partner with product, research, and analytics to leverage user research and data insights to inform design decisions and validate solutions.
• Represent design in cross-functional meetings, reviews, and ceremonies when needed.
  Share progress clearly through Figma files, async updates, documentation, and presentations.
• Regularly sync with design partners for critique, alignment, and refinement.

• 7+ years of experience designing and shipping real products across web and/or mobile.
• Proven ownership of end-to-end shipped experiences, not just isolated screens.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating:

  • Native mobile design (iOS and/or Android)

• Expert-level proficiency in Figma.
• Strong working knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Comfort creating interactive prototypes to explore and communicate ideas.
• Familiarity with lightweight code-based prototyping is a plus (not production work).
• Motion design experience (After Effects or similar) is a plus.

• Strong understanding of design systems and how to apply them rigorously.
• Experience designing for platform-native environments (Slack, iOS, Android) is a plus.
• Familiarity designing for or working within Slack-based environments is a plus.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly and apply them thoughtfully.
• Explore and communicate ideas using AI-assisted or code-based prototyping tools (e.g., vibe coding, generative tools, or lightweight environments) to accelerate exploration, test interactivity, and demonstrate feasibility.
• Contribute to vision work, demos, and forward-looking concepts, especially related to AI-powered learning experiences.
• Stay curious about how AI is shaping design workflows and product experiences, and apply those insights where useful.

• Able to work independently with a high degree of ownership.
• Confident presenting work and influencing decisions through clear rationale.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and moving forward with incomplete information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in async environments.

• Leads projects and surfaces they own, from problem framing through delivery.

• Influences decisions within their product areas through strong design judgment.
• Partners effectively with PM and engineering peers to drive outcomes.
• Maintains a consistently high bar for craft, systems thinking, and execution.
• Scope is focused on leading individual projects and surfaces rather than defining org-wide design strategy.
• This role does not include people management, but it may grow in scope over time as the Hyderabad team scales.
