Senior Technical Consultant - MuleSoft

Salesforce Professional Services focuses on delivering strategic engagements that define transformational opportunities and articulate clear plans for execution of change programs. We rely on our team's expertise to engage with executive-level customers, align on specific business goals, and ignite the full value of the Salesforce ecosystem.

Within this group, the MuleSoft Practice acts as the crucial connective tissue for our customers. We champion API-led connectivity and hyperautomation, helping organizations securely unlock their legacy systems and disparate data sources. In the era of AI, our work is more vital than ever: we build the robust, integrated data foundations that make Generative AI, predictive analytics, and autonomous agents possible.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

Salesforce is seeking a Senior Technical Consultant to join our MuleSoft Professional Services team. In this senior role, you will act as a trusted advisor and technical thought leader on customer and partner engagements. You will design and implement complex enterprise integrations using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.

As a Senior Technical Consultant, you will be technically hands-on, leading the evaluation of architecture requirements, building scalable APIs, and driving projects to completion. You will also play a pivotal role in helping enterprises modernize their architecture to support AI-driven initiatives, ensuring data flows securely and efficiently into LLMs and intelligent applications.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Become a MuleSoft Authority: Through formal certification, hands-on experience, and continuous learning, you will become a recognized expert in the MuleSoft ecosystem.
  • Design for the AI Era: Architect and implement API-led connectivity strategies that securely expose enterprise data, making it actionable for AI models, Einstein Copilots, and Agentic workflows.
  • Deliver Technical Excellence: Lead front-end and back-end solution development, API lifecycle management, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
  • Drive Hyperautomation: Implement comprehensive automation solutions utilizing Anypoint Platform, MuleSoft RPA, and AI-powered data extraction (IDP).
  • Provide Strategic Guidance: Advise clients on Enterprise Architecture standards, microservices design patterns, environment management, and security best practices.
  • Troubleshoot & Mitigate Risk: Identify and proactively manage project risks, troubleshooting complex implementation issues from a senior-level perspective through to resolution.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage customer expectations and negotiate technical solutions with executive sponsors, internal teams, and third-party implementation partners.
  • Practice Growth: Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of the Italian MuleSoft practice through knowledge sharing and thought leadership.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Languages: Full professional proficiency in both English AND Italian.
  • Integration Expertise: Proven hands-on experience in enterprise integration, middleware platforms, and API management.
  • Coding & Architecture: Strong background in object-oriented programming (e.g., Java) and deep understanding of REST/SOAP API design, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
  • Modern Tech Fluency: Solid understanding of modern technology trends, particularly how to integrate systems with AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic), and the role of data integration in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
  • Consulting Acumen: Ability to analyze, design, and optimize complex business processes, guiding customers in rationalizing and deploying emerging technologies.
  • Autonomy & Teamwork: Ability to work independently, lead technical workstreams, and collaborate effectively within a distributed, matrixed team environment.
  • Education: Degree or equivalent relevant experience (evaluated based on core competencies, leadership roles, and practical work experience).
  • Mobility: Available to travel regionally within Italy and occasionally internationally, depending on customer needs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Active MuleSoft Certifications (e.g., MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 1 & 2, MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect).

  • Hands-on experience with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, DataWeave, CloudHub, and Runtime Fabric (RTF).
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Einstein for MuleSoft, GitHub Copilot).
  • Experience in the broader Salesforce ecosystem (Salesforce Core, Data Cloud) and how MuleSoft connects to them.
  • Previous experience in a senior consulting or technical lead role at a top-tier consultancy or system integrator.
