Salesforce is looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the evolution of our Schema AI and Schema Framework engineering teams. Based in Bangalore, you will be the primary product owner for the frameworks and services that define how metadata-the very DNA of Salesforce-is discovered, managed, and configured.
In this role, you aren't just managing features; you are "conducting" complex, ambiguous opportunities to improve the builder experience. You will bridge the gap between deep infrastructure and cutting-edge Generative AI, owning the front-end experiences for Salesforce admins, developers, and architects. Your work will directly power major company priorities, including Agentforce, D360, and Marketing Cloud.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
- Product Strategy: Develop and own a 1-2 year prioritized roadmap for next-gen custom schema frameworks (PSED, Schema Interfaces, Schema Evolution, and Schema Plane).
- AI Innovation: Lead the application of schema metadata in AI Application Development, enabling users to configure metadata via natural language through Agentforce.
- Cross-Cloud Collaboration: Act as the strategic partner for Data Cloud and Marketing Cloud, prioritizing framework changes required for efforts like Data Cloud Singularity and Extensibility.
- Technical Leadership: Manage the lifecycle of a schema-from creation to evolution-ensuring no disruption to existing customer implementations in our multi-tenant SaaS platform.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Spend ~15% of your time with customers, ISVs, and partners to synthesize industry trends and infuse those insights into your product strategy.
- Bangalore Site Leadership: Serve as the effective "site lead" for the fully India-based engineering teams, translating high-level US direction into concrete execution.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 10 + years in Product Management, specifically within Platform, Middleware, or Data Infrastructure.
- Technical Depth: A "Metadata Maestro" with deep experience in relational database design, metadata-driven architectures, and large-scale data modeling.
- AI Proficiency: Hands-on knowledge of LLMs and prompt engineering; ability to define the metadata "grounding" required for AI agents to reason effectively.
- Product Judgment: Ability to articulate conflicts between customer experience and business outcomes, making high-impact trade-offs in ambiguous situations.
- Builder Empathy: A strong intuition for low-code/no-code experiences and a desire to make complex technical configurations feel simple for admins and architects.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate with various stakeholders, from tactical technical detail to high-level strategy, while effectively resolving escalations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience at a major PaaS (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or direct Salesforce competitor.
- Experience with Graph Databases or Semantic Layers for AI.
- Experience navigating "InnerSource" or contributing to shared frameworks used by multiple external teams.
