Role Description
Slack Marketing Operations is looking to grow its Marketing Channel Strategy and Optimization team. As a key member of this team, you will have an extraordinary opportunity to shape and optimize the performance of Slack's marketing channels, ensuring operational excellence, data-driven insights, and continuous improvement across our commercial marketing efforts.

You will serve as a strategic partner to campaign managers and marketing leaders, applying your expertise in channel optimization, analytics, and governance to drive measurable business impact. Your responsibilities will include:
Channel ownership & governance: Serve as the subject-matter expert for assigned marketing channels, ensuring best practices, compliance, and operational excellence across all campaigns. You'll establish and enforce governance frameworks, set performance standards, and create remediation protocols to maintain channel health.
Analytics & performance reporting: Own channel dashboards and reporting, delivering actionable insights on campaign ROI, pipeline impact, lead quality, and efficiency metrics to leadership. You'll monitor key performance indicators including Marketing Driven Pipeline (MDP), engagement rates, conversion metrics, and channel attribution to inform strategic decision-making.
Campaign enablement & optimization: Partner with campaign managers to ensure accurate execution, identify performance trends, and collaborate with engineering to embed continuous improvements into AI workflows and systems. You'll conduct diagnostic analyses, develop optimization strategies, and implement tracking frameworks to enhance channel performance.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned marketing operations professional with 3-5 years of experience in channel strategy, analytics, or marketing operations. You should have a proven track record of managing channel governance frameworks, building performance dashboards, and driving measurable improvements in campaign effectiveness. Additionally, you should have strong analytical capabilities, experience working with marketing technology platforms, and the ability to translate data into strategic recommendations that influence stakeholder decisions.
Your Impact
- Own the end-to-end governance framework for assigned marketing channels, including establishing audience size thresholds, approval workflows, and remediation protocols to ensure channel health and compliance with company policies
- Collaborate with analytics team members to develop and maintain comprehensive performance dashboards and reporting infrastructure that provides real-time visibility into channel performance, campaign ROI, MDP attribution, and efficiency metrics
- Conduct diagnostic analyses to identify optimization opportunities, including evaluation of audience segmentation, content performance, targeting strategies, and channel-specific best practices
- Partner with Growth Programs Managers and campaign marketers to define campaign requirements, ensure accurate execution with standardized UTM tracking, and align with channel governance methodologies
- Define data needs to support future channel programs and collaborate with operations, data engineering, and MarTech teams to enhance marketing tools and reporting capabilities
- Develop ongoing strategies to enhance channel performance, including experiment design and execution, A/B testing frameworks, and continuous optimization initiatives
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of channel processes, standards, and best practices while maintaining alignment with the broader marketing operations team
- Report regularly on channel performance to marketing leadership, communicating impact, trends, and strategic recommendations with clear, actionable insights
- Strategically solve problems to ensure high-quality campaign execution, proper attribution, and data integrity across all channel activities
- Monitor industry trends and channel platform updates to identify new opportunities for optimization and ensure Slack maintains competitive channel performance
- Support cross-functional initiatives to improve marketing efficiency, reduce operational costs, and drive innovation through AI-enabled workflows and automation
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in marketing operations, channel strategy, or analytics roles
- 2+ years experience with marketing technology platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sprout Social, Tableau, or similar analytics and automation tools
- Strong analytical skills with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets and experience with SQL or other data analysis tools
- Demonstrated experience building dashboards and reporting frameworks that deliver actionable insights to leadership
- Experience working with multiple, cross-organizational stakeholders and managing complex projects with competing priorities
- Knowledge of digital marketing performance metrics including open rates, click rates, engagement rates, conversion rates, and pipeline attribution
- Experience creating, documenting, and improving processes to ensure timely and high-quality execution across channel programs
- Experience using data to inform strategies, measure success, conduct A/B testing, and experiment to optimize performance
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, strategic recommendations
- Prior experience using Slack in a work environment preferred
- Experience with UTM tracking, campaign attribution models, and marketing analytics frameworks preferred

NOTE: This is an office-flexible role. The expectation is to be in-office 2-3 days a week when local to an office.
