Job Summary

Role Summary:

Purchasing Supervisor is a professional who is responsible for overseeing the purchasing process within a company or organization. The role involves managing a team of purchasing agents or buyers to ensure that the procurement of goods and services is done efficiently, effectively, and at a competitive cost.

The main duties of a Purchasing Supervisor include:

  • Managing the purchasing team to ensure that they are meeting their targets and objectives. Evaluating the performance of suppliers to ensure that they are meeting their contractual obligations.
  • Collaborating with other departments within the organization to ensure that purchasing needs are met. Maintaining accurate records and documentation of purchasing activities. Developing and implementing purchasing policies and procedures that ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Establish annual Road Map to meet ICRF standard / Compliance related to Purchasing. Activity includes but is not limited to establish annual roadmap for bids to be performed for suppliers, establish contract, comply with the Digital Tools usage, comply with the CSR policies Analyzing, identifying, and selecting suppliers that can provide the best value for the organization. Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Purchasing of direct and indirect materials, services, and investments for the production site.
  • Supplier negotiations including preparation, contract drafting and order processing as well as supplier evaluation.
  • Work in coordination with the ENC Purchasing Category Manager to implement sourcing strategies at the site level.
  • Work in coordination to secure business and mitigate supply risks. Identify risk areas Collaboration in cross-functional sourcing purchasing teams for continuous optimization of results for the SG PPL locations as well as preparation and implementation of sourcing committees.
  • Process optimization and supplier consolidation as well as the initiation and implementation of cost saving potentials.
  • Establish Supplier Evaluation program for suppliers with regular Suppliers Audits.

Required Qualifications

Required Work Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain and/or Purchasing discipline preferred or 5+ years' of applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a formal Bachelor's Degree.

Required:

  • Associates Degree plus 5+ years of experience is required.
  • 5+ years experience in Purchasing and Supplier Relationship Management in a manufacturing environment Lean Manufacturing, WCM, 6Sigma and 5S methodology and application
  • 5+ years' experience managing and developing direct reports.
  • Leadership experience; Supplier relationship management; Negotiation skills; Strong math, statistics, and analytical thinking; Risk mitigation and management; Materials management fundamentals; Manufacturing resource planning

Licenses and Certifications:

APICS (CPIM, CLTD, CSCP and/or SCOR) minimum 1 certification. 2 certifications required if no Supply Chain degree or CPP certified. Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) certification.

Leadership Skills:

  • Team leader and collaborator. Self-motivated with a sense of urgency to meet commitments & deadlines with limited direct supervision.
  • Customer focused (internal & external) with excellent conflict resolution skill set. Continuous learner and trainer.
  • Communicating and Influencing Skills:
  • Excellent interactive and communication skills essential-both written and verbal.
  • Able to anticipate the customers (internal & external) need and be able to communicate effectively to influence changes of behavior to exceed expectations

Problem Solving Skills:

Preferred effective use of analytical thought process and creativity to identify and implement solutions to issues that arise while maintaining site goals.

Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees' wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $85,200 to $131,900 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $10,224 to $15,828. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
