Job Summary

What's the job?

Manage the production for the Bedford Park, IL site. Ensure the production of high-performance products with the quality, delivery, and cost to meet customer's requirements. Assists in the manufacture of new products. Manages a budget and works closely with EHS, engineering, quality, maintenance, and other departments. Responsible for daily supervision of department personnel, process improvements, and projects to maximize production yields.

  • Manages the Production Departments in the Bedford Park facility. Directs
    and coordinates the operation of all departments based on production guidelines, establishes
    priorities and production schedules.
  • Actively supports WCM within departments and establishes department objectives based on the WCM management

approach. Also, provides leadership for safety standards, quality standards, production efficiency, training needs, continuous improvement/cost reductions, scrap improvement, safety standards, and environmental compliance.
  • Manages and/or supports daily operations as they relate to the front-line supervision in the proper implementation of policies, procedures, and continuous improvement strategies within the site.
  • Prepare operational plans budgets and reports to appropriate Management on actual performance vs. plan.
    Work closely with other Business Management team members to execute the Strategic Plan for growth through
    capacity expansion and new product introductions.
  • Maintains all necessary paperwork, records, SOPs, and work instructions for the manufacturing
    operations along with communication to all necessary departments i.e., safety, quality, maintenance, customer service, etc.
  • Participates in self-development and leading, training, development, and coaching others.

  • Required Qualifications

    What do you bring?

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business discipline required
    • Master's Degree in Engineering or Business discipline preferred
    • 8-10 years experience in manufacturing, managing production
    • 3-5 years experience supervising others
    • Knowledge production/manufacturing operation
    • Green Belt Certification/WCM Pillar Development
    • Knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance to ensure efficient and safe operation of machinery and equipment
    • Experience managing and working with outside contractors and vendors to ensure the overall safety of the facility.
