This is a hybrid role based out of our Malvern Headquarters

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a new Product Stewardship & Compliance program and team in a supportive environment. Come join our Product Stewardship & Compliance Team to contribute to "Making the World a Better Home".

The Product Stewardship & Sustainability Specialist works with the Product Stewardship and Sustainability Team and as a liaison between commercial, legal, and research and development teams. This role will work with various business team members, assisting each business group in proactively managing the product regulatory, stewardship, and compliance documentation, and needs arising in their markets, while promoting best-practice sharing across the North American region to enhance the overall Saint Gobain Product Stewardship, Compliance and Sustainability program.

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following (Product Stewardship, Regulatory Compliance and Sustainability focus areas):

  • Support monitoring of emerging issues, development of risk assessments, and communication of possible impacts to the business posed by changing regulations and chemical control laws in North America and globally as needed.
  • Work with Business Groups, Environmental Health and Safety and Risk Management to support assessments of business and operational risks as well as potential impacts for their sales & marketing activities. Help the Business Groups as needed to identify options for mitigating identified risks and opportunities as they related to product stewardship, compliance, and sustainability.
  • Proactively and continually improves level of knowledge about North American and global chemical-control regulatory requirements as needed.
  • Supports businesses needs related to responding to customer inquiries regarding product regulatory compliance, ingredient disclosure, author Transparency Documentation and Certifications (HPDs, Declare Labels and Various Certifications).
  • Work with Business Groups to ensure timely reviews for Product Stewardship Assessments and Reviews, managing documentation in a SharePoint-based platform.
  • Supports communication of health, safety and environmental measures to manage risk so that products can be designed, developed, improved, and safely used for their intended purposes.
  • Provides regulatory advice to R&D and businesses for Local, State, National and NA Regional and global product regulatory matters.
  • Efficiently share, request, and collect essential product and supplier data from the supply chain, while protecting confidential business information.
  • Use IT tools to assist R&D and businesses with comparing, assessing and selecting chemicals with lower hazard profiles to ensure product safety and sustainability
  • Support decisions to select materials, products and suppliers that meet internal and external safety, sustainability and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor's degree required in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related science.
  • 0-3 years of experience in regulatory, product stewardship, risk management preferred.
  • 0-3 years of experience in gathering data, reviewing SDS and authoring documentation preferred.
  • Must have good interpersonal and written and oral communication skills, and capable of collaborating with businesses, R&D and other functions to support implementation of SGNA product stewardship & compliance program
  • Ability to demonstrate high attention to detail, take ownership and drive result required
  • Ability to demonstrate high computer skills, database management, presentation, and training skills to promote SGNA PS&C Program implementation across business units and R&D required.
  • Willingness to travel for training/professional society meetings/product support as needed.
