What's the Job?

This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days a week expected in our Malvern Offices.

The Product Compliance Engineer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of roofing product code approvals and certifications with code bodies and regulatory agencies including Underwriters Laboratories, Factory Mutual, International Code Council Evaluation Services, Florida Building Commission, Miami-Dade Product Control, Texas Department of Insurance and the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) to account for expiration dates and changes due to code adoptions, product additions, deletions, changes and updates, and to support the residential roofing businesses.

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Witnessing code testing & processing code approvals, participation in industry associations documentation management, management of change documentation and management of roofing product packaging. No product testing is performed by the Product Compliance Engineer. Testing for projects the Product Compliance Engineer manages is handled by 3rd party testing agencies, with the option for the Product Compliance Engineer to witness testing.

Travel up to 25% will be required travel to attend association & regulatory body meetings, assist in construction and to witness test progress and results, including analysis of failure mode.

Required Qualifications

What do you bring?

  • A bachelor's degree is the minimum level of formal education required for this position.
  • A degree in the natural sciences or engineering is a plus.
  • Previous experience with code evaluation submittals, building code enforcement, FM Roofnav or testing of roofing products would be an asset.
  • Well organized and analytical with concern for details and accuracy and capable to following instructions, meet schedules/timelines, and manage multiple projects of varying priorities.
  • Advanced computer skills required including Microsoft Office application such as: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Proficient in AutoCad, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, and SharePoint.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills a must.
  • Ability to work with others in a positive and collaborative manner.
