Job Summary

Manage project initiatives designed to improve the effectiveness of the manufacturing process in the areas of Productivity, Efficiency and Quality. Ensure that all products, processes and procedures are in compliance with established company Safety, Quality and Manufacturing policies and specifications to consistently meet or exceed our customer expectations. This position provides effective leadership to impact process improvement and/or product quality, and to recommend necessary changes within the organization so that the plant achieves the highest possible finished product quality at the lowest possible cost. This position acts as a liaison between all the major departments: production, engineering, maintenance, logistics and quality.

Main duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops, directs and maintains process improvement objectives with the plant management staff in order to maximize safety, productivity, quality and efficiency.
  • Promotes effective teamwork and utilizes innovation to achieve process improvement goals.
  • Assist in the development or standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Provides general technical support and leadership to the plant supervisory and hourly employees.
  • Report all EH&S incidents - Injuries/incidents, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage.
  • Participate in the plants World Class Manufacturing initiatives (WCM).
  • Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 year degree (Engineering Preferred) (equivalent experience may be considered)
  • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Proficient in use of MS Office
  • General understanding of ISO methodology (ISO 9001, 14001,)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Auto-Cad is a plus
  • Familiarity with 5S, Lean Principles & Continuous Improvement Methodology (World Class Manufacturing)
