Equities
Our team's mission is to make Robinhood the best place to invest in equities. This includes building outstanding tools for managing your portfolio, researching investments, placing trades, and more, all while delivering the safest and most accessible investing experience possible. As a Backend Software Developer, you will have vast ownership over impactful products and backend services that power the Equities experience in the mobile and web applications.
Brokeback Infrastructure team
Our mission on the Brokeback Infrastructure team is to solve challenging technical and business problems with visionary and practical solutions. This team is dedicated to building a solid foundation for Robinhood Brokerage, ensuring outstanding reliability, extensibility, and maintainability. By leveraging innovative technologies, we address critical issues for our customers and the company, while gaining deep insights into Robinhood's core business.
Accounting platform team
Our mission on the Accounting Platform team is to build and maintain a horizontal layer of core accounting and account logics, enabling multiple engineering teams to develop new Brokerage features faster. This team tackles challenging technical and business problems with visionary and practical solutions, leveraging innovative technologies. By gaining insights into Robinhood's core business, we enhance our platform's capabilities.
SMS Brokerage
The SMS (Stock Lending, Margin and Sweeps) Team is focused on building long term investment products that grow with the needs of our customers. Features owned by this team generate high revenue and any incremental changes to them will have a significant impact on our revenue streams. We are looking to revamp Stock Lending and Margin offerings based on User research and Market data.
Support Experience
Our team's mission is to provide world class support at scale. Robinhood's mission is to democratize finances for all and this team is the first line of defense when our customer have any issues or questions that could prevent them from investing with Robinhood. We help to ensure customers get the right support in a precise and timely manner. We use innovative solutions to help customers to address their issues. The team is at the forefront of buidling new technologies like generative AI support chatbots and large scale complex platforms.
What you’ll do
- Build scalable systems and components, making the right tradeoffs to account for stability and long-term maintainability
- Design, write, test, and release platform or product-facing features with stringent correctness and scalability requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance, team productivity, and reduce risk
- Collaborate closely and effectively with cross-functional partners, client teams, and vendors
What you bring
- 3+ years of software developer experience
- You have a track record of successfully collaborating with cross-functional teams and delivering large-scope technical projects, setting a high standard for code quality and code review processes
- You deeply understand the design, product, and backend development disciplines so that you can work effectively with them
- Experience with Go or Python
- Experience with Kafka and data streaming technologies
- Experience with handling/processing large amounts of data
- Familiarity with other parts of the team’s tech stack (Postgres, K8s, Redis, AWS or similar)
- Bonus Points: Experience at a fintech company or financial firm
