Esports Event Producer

The Events Producer manages the production of our digital, studio and stadium events within North America.

In this position, you will fill the role of the Events Producer for our live events in North America. You will use your strategic and creative expertise to help lead the design and execution of digital and in-person activations and events for live and broadcast audiences. Reporting to the Sr.  Manager, Esports Production Management, you will help guide the creative and operational vision for our events, and partner with the Event Production, League Management, Publishing, Partnership and Broadcast teams to deliver on them. You will collaborate with a team of event producers, broadcast producers, and creative leads to deliver world-class events to our fans, providing guidance and support to every aspect of the show.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the future events planning group: proactively managing meetings, gathering product needs, updating source of truth (SOT) documents and ensuring internal teams have visibility on upcoming events and multi-year roadmap.
  • Be a liaison to create consistency across both product team(s) of event producers providing consistency, operational support, and event coordination as needed.
  • Establish timelines, work systems, and track progress with stakeholders. Develop evaluation tools that measure effectiveness of programs and work with leadership on prioritization.
  • Directly lead operations of the Event Producers team; establish cross-product processes, documentation, retrospectives, best practices, and work systems
  • Assist as needed in resource and scenario planning, forecasting, and managing department and program operating expenses
  • Partner with creative and production teams to brainstorm and produce esports events, sharing learnings and documentation across products, events, and regions
  • Collaborate and drive initiatives with Riot esports teams such as Operations, Business Development, Partnerships, Entertainment, and Publishing in the planning of events and ad-hoc projects.
  • Prepare and present insights, reports, and recommendations to senior stakeholders as necessary
  • Develop data-driven insights for our events including budget, ticket sales, attendance figures, etc.
  • Manage the production of our events including venue  selection, strategic product goals and KPIs, creative vision, opening ceremony, ticket sales, and all fan-facing aspects of the show.
  • Collaborate with the game development teams and other internal teams at Riot to seamlessly integrate in-game activities and content with our live events.
  • Implement scalable systems and processes to enable consistent delivery across multiple event formats and team types
  • Oversee vendor RFPs, contract negotiations, and performance tracking in alignment with procurement and Riot’s legal standards
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regional regulations while maintaining flexibility for creative execution
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for regional and global stakeholders, escalating and resolving issues as needed
  • Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement in all production processes
  • Plan and develop physical security plans and risk assessments for our esports events

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in production.
  • Experience managing stakeholders and project managing teams through the execution of live events, shows, TV or film productions.
  • Hands-on experience as an events producer or coordinating producer, with a solid background in events strategy, events production, and creative executions.
  • Experience developing ticket sales strategies for events and managing ticket sales
  • Deep knowledge of technical production, budgeting, vendor management, and operational logistics

Desired Qualifications:

  • Outstanding creative capabilities.
  • Experience with large-scale events for 10,000+ attendees as well as small-scale events for a few hundred attendees
  • Experience across both competitive esports and publishing/brand activations
