Overview
This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the first party auto claims department. Ensure the timely, accurate, and fair resolution of claims filed by company branches for damage to their own vehicles (collision, comprehensive). Focuses on maintaining high customer satisfaction, controlling indemnity spend, and managing a team of adjusters.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise a team of 1st party auto adjusters, providing technical guidance and authority on complex claims
- Monitor workflow and pending counts to ensure equitable distribution of assignments and adherence to state regulatory timelines
- Conduct regular file audits to ensure compliance with company Best Practices and legislative requirements
- Review and approve settlements exceeding the adjuster authority levels
- Collaborate with the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) to identify and mitigate fraudulent 1st party claims
- Analyze claims data to identify trends and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
Candidate Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in auto insurance claims
- 3+ years in a supervisory or management role
- Relevant industry certifications (AIC,CPCU) preferred
- Active adjuster licenses in required jurisdictions preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Deep technical knowledge of 1st party coverages, vehicle repair methods, and total loss valuation
- Ability to make sound judgments on complex coverage and liability issues
- Strong focus on delivering an empathetic and efficient experience for policy holders
- Proven ability to mentor and develop the technical skills of junior staff
Compensation
Range $85,600 - $111,200 / year
While starting pay falls within the given range, it can vary based on factors like geographic location, skills, education, and experience. Total earnings may also be affected by overtime, incentives, commissions, performance, and route assignment (where applicable).
