Electro-Mechanic Technician I
Overview
The Electro/Mechanic Tech I is responsible for maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing and construction systems for the repair and maintenance of production equipment. Perform setups, preventative maintenance, mechanical adjustments, and simple programming changes on automated equipment such as auto assembly machines.
Takes technical direction from a senior technician or manufacturing engineer. Works from machine maintenance manuals and established maintenance routines. Operates and/or trains operators in the use and maintenance of the machine. Usually, would be familiar with more than one machine or could easily generalize skills to more than one machine.
Responsibilities
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate and/or trains machine operators in the use of automated machines
- Identify and implement manufacturing process improvement opportunities for quality, delivery performance and throughput
- Manage multiple assignments/projects simultaneously and in a timely manner
- Ensure effective use of continuous improvement tools to prevent future or recurring failures of equipment, and injuries or incidents
- Participate actively in all 5S and Safety activities
Qualifications
- A.S. Degree in Electromechanical Technology
- 3+ years of professional experience
- Proven skills to start up and run automated assembly and packaging machines
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, electrical schematics, pneumatic schematics, mechanical drawings.
- Basic knowledge on vision inspections system (Keyence, Cognex), pneumatic actuators, HMI controllers, Variable-frequency drives, bowl feeders and PLC (Allen Bradley, IDEC).
- Basic Computer knowledge (MS Office, Database entry, solid works, AutoCad, etc.)
- Flexibility
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Reliability centered and condition-based maintenance experience
- Managing or leading a crew to achieve company or production goals
- Applied experience with Allen-Bradley PLC Control systems
- Familiar with CMMS such as MP2 or similar maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment
