quip is a truly omni-channel business with strength in DTC, Retail, Amazon and Dental Professional DTC channels.

We're looking for a Senior Packaging and Retail Designer with strong experience in packaging design to join our talented in-house Brand Design team and propel quip in developing industry-leading, innovative design that breaks-through and drives the business.

The ideal candidate is a detail oriented designer with experience in print production and a love for all things packaging design. You should possess the ability to solve big design challenges, while finding time to sweat the small stuff. You have a strong portfolio of work and understand what it takes to develop great packaging and attention grabbing creative in busy retail environments.

This role reports into our Creative Director and will collaborate closely with marketing, wholesale, industrial design and other key cross functional teams.

Base Salary: $90k to $110k

This range represents anticipated base salary range for this position, in addition to competitive benefits and equity (as applicable). We carefully assess and consider several factors with each candidate, including location, role-related knowledge, experience and skills. Compensation may vary based on these considerations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demonstrate beautiful and functional design, typography, hierarchy, for all brand applications, both physical and digital 
• Understand and apply brand guidelines to design solutions, while striving to express and refine the quip brand no matter the medium but with a strong focus on packaging and retail
• Work on multi-merchandise packaging needs for direct to consumer, drug, retail, wholesale, and other open-sell environments, that continue to surprise and delight the quip customer
• Support the Packaging team in day to day efforts consisting of but not limited to evergreen updates, new product development, and continued packaging improvements driven by cost and/or quality initiatives
• Develop new tools and processes for success, e.g. style guides, scalable design solutions and systems, as well as collaborate closely with the Brand team to advance a consistent vision
• Experience in production design: be organized, detail oriented, know how to prep files, proof carefully, partner to produce the best experience within budget
• Must be available to review physical samples in Dumbo office

QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years experience in design, print production, packaging design, or related discipline
• Acute and elevated design acumen: a strong understanding and use of design principles and rules, and an eye for detail will take you far
• Excellent communication (verbal, written, visual); ability to propose ideas across teams, and contextualize multiple ideas in relation to one another
• Fueled by a fast-paced environment
• Experience collaborating with other designers, copywriters, and cross-functional partners
• Desire to impact and support a rapidly growing brand and oral care company
• Self-starter who asks questions, seeks opportunities, and gets things done
• Confident in your skills, yet humble and open to feedback and direction
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a design discipline related to graphic designs preferred
