The Opportunity
As a Tax Japanese Business Network (JBN) Intern, you will immerse yourself in the dynamic world of tax compliance, gaining hands-on experience in preparing tax documents, conducting tax research, and supporting client engagements. This role offers a unique chance to develop your skills in accounting practices and financial statement analysis, while working alongside professionals who will guide you through the intricacies of tax services. As an Intern, you will support teams by participating in projects, focusing on learning and gaining exposure to PwC's methodologies. You will perform basic tasks and conduct research, observing professional work environments and contributing to the team's success.

Responsibilities
- Supporting tax compliance processes by assisting in the preparation and filing of tax documents within the Japanese Business Network
- Participating in corporate tax planning activities to optimize tax positions for clients
- Conducting tax research to provide accurate and up-to-date information on tax laws and regulations
- Drafting tax documents necessary for filing, including income statements and tax returns
- Monitoring and analyzing financial trends to identify opportunities for improving margins and profitability
- Assisting in regulatory compliance consulting by advising on policies and procedures to meet current requirements
- Engaging in project management tasks to achieve project goals within specified timeframes
- Collaborating with teams to conduct financial audits and reviews, ensuring adherence to accounting principles
- Analyzing financial statement data to assess the health and performance of businesses
- Preparing tax documents by analyzing paperwork to identify potential deductions or liabilities
- Supporting client interactions by actively listening and communicating effectively to address their needs
- Learning and applying accounting practices to maintain accurate financial records and reports
- Observing and participating in professional work environments to gain exposure to PwC practices
- Contributing to team success by performing basic tasks and conducting research as needed
What You Must Have
- Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Before starting full-time at PwC, meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in your intended state of employment.
- Business-level fluency in Japanese and English, with the ability to read, write, and speak both languages in a professional setting
- At least a 3.0 overall GPA
- Client service intern positions are entry-level roles intended for job seekers who are in their third year of a four-year degree program or fourth year of a five-year program at the time of application. Winter internships typically occur during the spring semester preceding the student's final year of school. Summer internships typically take place during the summer preceding the student's final year of school.

The salary range for this position is: $29.25 - $48.00. For roles that are based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for this position. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
