Today Newark, NJ

Job Classification:
Technology - Information Security

Are you interested in building capabilities that enable the organization with innovation, speed, agility, scalability and efficiency? The Identity & Access Management team in Information Security Office (ISO) takes great pride in our culture where information security is built into our DNA! When you join our organization at Prudential, you'll unlock an exciting and impactful career - all while growing your skills and advancing your profession at one of the world's leading financial services institutions.

Your Team & Role

As a Specialist, Mainframe Security in Identity and Access Management, you will partner with other security professionals to improve the security of company and client data. You will solve difficult technical issues and work to build alignment around a complex situation. You will work on problems of diverse scope in which analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. In addition to applied experience, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning focus to all that you do.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day

• Perform daily mainframe security related operational and project work with the direction of more senior team members.
• Process requests for password updates/resets and access changes by following team runbooks step by step and recording evidence in tickets.
• Assist with RACF administration: create/modify user IDs, update group membership, and support resource/profile permissions under supervision.
• Support certificate workflows: gather inputs, update schedules, and help with validation checks during renewals-learning how certificates keep services secure.
• Keep documentation current: capture what changed, where, when, by whom, and the validation outcome so changes are traceable and audit ready.
• Learn continuously: spend dedicated time building knowledge in TSO/ISPF, JCL, and core RACF commands; shadow a senior teammate during a planned change.
• Contribute to automation: Work with mainframe and security subject matter experts to automate tasks and over time help reduce manual work.
• Engage with IT peers and business stakeholders to ensure an appropriate Information Security mindset is in place with our technology and business partners.
You'll start with guided, high impact operational work (password ops, RACF admin, resource updates) and grow into a niche, valuable mainframe security skillset that translates to impactful information security roles across the enterprise.
