Prudential International Insurance (PII) manufactures life insurance, retirement and related products that are provided to customers across numerous distribution channels in Japan and the Emerging Markets. Emerging Markets business includes our wholly owned operations in Brazil and Mexico, and our joint ventures and investments in Chile, Peru, Colombia, China, Indonesia, India and Africa. Emerging Market business is key to Prudential Financial, Inc.'s overall strategy.
The Manager - Financial Reporting, Emerging Markets plays a critical role within the Emerging Market Finance team, with a primary focus on Latin America operations (Brazil, Mexico, Chile and other jurisdictions). This position leads the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, provide USGAAP accounting and financial reporting guidance across jurisdictions, and conducts Source of Earnings and financial statement analysis to support performance management and strategic business transactions. This position also contributes to developing and communicating the financial results story, helping senior leadership and stakeholders understand key drivers, trends, and implications behind the numbers.
This role requires a strong technical accounting background, deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, and the ability to navigate complex reporting environments in Latin America operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and skilled at translating financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership and stakeholders.

The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid in Newark, NJ and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
What you can expect:
- Lead financial reporting for operations in emerging markets, with a primary focus on Latin America operations, ensuring consistency and compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal policies.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Latin America finance teams and corporate stakeholders, providing accounting guidance, resolving reporting issues, and supporting business initiatives.
- Conduct Source of Earnings (SOE) and financial statement analysis to explain profitability drivers by distribution channels and other attributes to support strategic decision-making and performance management.
- Collaborate with PII and Latin America actuarial partners in the annual assumption update process, including unit cost, policyholder experience, and other key assumptions update.
- Support Oracle system enhancements in local operations and other financial management automation initiatives to improve reporting efficiency, data integrity, and analytical capabilities.
- Lead results review package by providing insights and context behind financial outcomes. Collaborate with Investor Relations and senior leadership to develop clear, compelling financial storytelling that aligns with business performance and strategy.
- Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K), including footnotes, MD&A, and earnings materials.
- Prepare and review technical accounting memos on complex transactions
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit deliverables.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) in accordance with SOX.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor or Graduate degree in Accounting/Finance
- In-depth technical and working knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience with business transactions,
- Minimum eight (8) years of related experience
- Proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office applications
- Strongly demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and research skills
- Excellently displayed verbal and written communication skills
- Strongly demonstrated project management and organizational skills
- Team player and results focused
- Comfortable working independently
- Flexibility to devote additional effort during peak periods
It'd be a plus if you had:
- CPA designation or candidate is a plus
- Financial reporting software experience (Oracle)

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $118,700.00 to $176,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
