Job Description
The Research and Proposal Specialist is a part of the Group Insurance Product & Underwriting team. The Proposal Specialist is primarily accountable for managing and executing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) for our Premier/middled market customers (100-9,999 employees) working with our Sales and Account Management teams - and may assist Sr. Proposal Specialists with proposals as needed. This will include effectively writing clear, concise, client focused, and compelling responses that effectively position Prudential's group insurance products and employee benefit solutions to address customers' needs. This professional will typically work independently within the team and collaborate with business partners, including Sales/Account Management, Underwriting, and Subject Matter Experts across the company to ensure a high-quality, personalized RFPs.

This role has no formal supervisory responsibility.
Responsibilities:
• Focuses on more standard questionnaire types with less complexity and may manage more custom questionnaires with support from a Sr. Proposal Specialist.
• Understands relationships with Strategic Producers and can lead on assigned standard RFPs.
• Develops working relationships with sales/account mgmt. and UW associates aligned to their assigned proposals to prioritize and deliver quality RFP responses.
• Develops custom proposal content through adapting boilerplate content and collaborating with Sales/Account Management, Underwriting, Marketing, and other subject matter experts to deliver high quality RFP questionnaires.
• Learns and adapts with the team's proposal management platform and tools for completing and collaborating as well as the various external broker platforms for submitting RFPs/RFIs.
• As needed, supports Sr Research & Proposal writers.
• Communicates and coordinates effectively with other members of the Proposal Team and GI to ensure timely completion of all proposal documents.
• Exercises judgment in applying procedures or addressing unusual problem situations.
• Supports process improvement activities as well as other projects.
• Assesses issues and coordinates resolution with other members of the organization.
• Identifies and escalates complex issues as appropriate.
• Uses project management skills to ensure all deliverables are completed on time.
Qualifications
• 3+ yrs. Insurance/financial services business experience or related.
• Foundational knowledge of group insurance products/group insurance experience a plus
• Demonstrates a tech-forward mindset, ability to learn and apply evolving tech tools like AI and has an agile approach to getting work done.
• Knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Word
• Project management experience a plus
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Team player, creative, organized and detail oriented
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Flexibility and responsiveness to change
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience preferred
• Previous proposal or like experience
• Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) certification a plus or willingness to get certified
What we offer you:
Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $65,900.00 to $102,200.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
