Prudential is seeking a skilled Business Architect to join our Group Insurance organization as we continue our growth and transformation journey. This critical role seeks to enhance the alignment of strategy to execution by translating business strategies into actionable capability investments supported by future state architecture. The Business Architect will leverage different tools to recommend capability enhancements through collaborative engagements with business, functional and IT leaders, and will partner with product owners and the Portfolio Enablement team to develop and execute multiyear integrated roadmaps.

Successful candidates in the role will develop trusted relationships across business and IT teams, facilitating cross-functional collaboration among stakeholders using artifacts, facilitating engagements, and leveraging business and technological expertise to evaluate strategic plans, assess capabilities, and recommend targeted actions to advance business results.

What you can expect:

  • Partners with business, technology and cross-functional stakeholders to help translate business strategies into actionable capabilities, with a focus on growth, profitability, customer experience and risk.
  • Evaluates gaps in business capabilities that impact the achievement of future business goals and recommends changes/enhancements to approach, investments, etc.
  • Partners with the portfolio team to support facilitation of strategic planning by providing key inputs to help our stakeholders evaluate capability scope for value, effort, dependencies and other implications to inform prioritization and sequencing
  • Helps to establish multi-year roadmaps that achieve the future state, align supporting teams and guide investments with actionable recommendations by leveraging knowledge of the business' strategy and internal technology and business processes
  • Maintains business capability models and facilitates maturity assessments to support ongoing roadmap refinement and execution
  • Operates as a bridge between strategy and execution, business and technology, through early engagement with delivery teams for capability definition and solutioning (including in support of vendor RFIs/RFPs)
  • Uses business architecture methodology and standardized, relevant artifacts (e.g. capability heatmaps, roadmaps, blueprints, scorecards, etc.). to enable the approach and communication
  • Collaborates with technology and execution teams to ensure continuous delivery of business outcomes, identify opportunities to evolve the business architecture and monitor closure of capability gaps
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure continuous delivery of business value, and encourages utilization of broadly reusable technologies, tools, value streams and processes that impact speed to value and time to market.
  • Becomes a trusted advisor to business leaders developing and executing strategies.

What you'll need:

  • 7+ years of experience with responsibilities that include strategy development and/or execution, business analysis, process improvement
  • Strong understanding of business architecture concepts and ability to apply best practices to drive business outcomes
  • Proven ability to lead and execute strategic initiatives, ideally within an agile framework - Scaled Agile, Scrum, Kanban - and familiarity with SDLC principles and fundamentals of iterative and incremental development
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence peers and stakeholders across business and technology
  • Strategic, analytical and highly collaborative, driving structured, informed decision-making and alignment in support of organizational goals and priorities
  • Group insurance experience preferred, but not required
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Ability to travel, based on business needs (up to 10-15%).

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $147,100.00 to $220,700.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
