A Propel Afterschool Program
Summer MAGIC Camp is a dynamic, hands-on learning experience designed to keep scholars engaged, curious, and inspired throughout the summer. Our program blends academic enrichment with art, STEM, physical education, creative expression, and social-emotional learning in a fun, supportive environment.

Locations: Propel BHES/BHMS, Propel East, Propel Hazelwood, Propel Homestead, Propel McKeesport, Propel Montour Elementary, Propel Northside, Propel Pitcairn
Program Dates:
June 22 - July 16, 2026 (Monday-Thursday)
Staff Preparation Days: June 17 & 18 - Site setup, planning, and training
Staff Wrap-Up Day: July 17 - Site reset and classroom breakdown
Site Coordinator
$30/hour | 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily site operations, scholar safety, and staff supervision
- Ensure high-quality academic and enrichment programming
- Complete required documentation, attendance tracking, and data collection
- Monitor and validate staff time records
- Maintain and monitor summer technology
- Serve as liaison between families, school administration, and Afterschool leadership
- Attend required trainings and meetings
- Uphold Propel's Culture of Dignity

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or related field
- Prior Propel Afterschool or school leadership experience preferred
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
Classroom Lead
$24/hour | 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead structured scholar groups and daily activities
- Implement engaging academic and enrichment lessons
- Collaborate with staff and providers
- Complete required documentation
- Monitor individual time record in UKG
- Model respect for supplies and room usage
- Maintain a safe, positive classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with families and school staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience working with K-8 scholars
- Propel Afterschool/Summer MAGIC experience strongly preferred
Classroom Lead Substitute
$24/hour | 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (as scheduled)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide seamless coverage for Classroom Leads
- Maintain structure, expectations, and lesson continuity
- Support scholar supervision and engagement
- Lead structured scholar groups and daily activities
- Implement engaging academic and enrichment lessons
- Collaborate with staff and providers
- Complete required documentation
- Monitor individual time record in UKG
- Model respect for supplies and room usage
- Maintain a safe, positive classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with school staff
Artist/Enrichment Instructor
$25/hour | 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on art instruction
- Collaborate with Site Coordinator
- Support scholar creativity and expression
- Maintain a professional and positive classroom culture
- Attend required trainings and meetings
- Monitor individual time record in UKG
- Model respect for supplies and room usage
- Art examples; cooking, art, PE, Dance etc.
Qualifications:
- Background in the Arts or related field
- Experience working with K-8 students
- Experience with Propel or Afterschool programs preferred
