As a Quality Assurance Spec within PNC's Lending Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh PA or Dallas TX.

Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist who brings a hands-on, technically strong testing mindset and a passion for ensuring high-quality, resilient software solutions.

This role is ideal for a QA professional who is comfortable working across both manual and automated testing, has Java and API testing experience, and actively challenges code and design decisions to improve overall solution quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on testing, including both manual and automation testing, to validate application functionality, integrations, and performance.
• Design, build, and maintain automated test scripts using Karate for API and service-level testing.
• Execute API testing to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and system interoperability.
• Use Postman for manual API testing, validation, and exploratory testing.
• Review code, test results, and requirements with a critical mindset, actively challenging assumptions and identifying potential risks or defects.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other QA team members within Agile delivery teams.
• Document test cases, defects, and results clearly and thoroughly, ensuring traceability and transparency.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Proven hands-on testing experience, including both manual and automated testing.
• Strong Java experience, particularly as it relates to testing and automation.
• Demonstrated experience with API testing.
• Experience using Karate for automation testing.
• Hands-on experience with Postman for manual testing.
• Strong critical-thinking skills, with the ability to review and challenge code, designs, and test outcomes constructively.
• Ability to work effectively in Agile/Scrum environments.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Previous software development experience, enabling deeper collaboration with engineering teams.
• Experience testing enterprise-scale or distributed systems.
• Exposure to financial services or other regulated technology environments.
