Job Purpose
The Facilities team will focus on providing support to the business in managing high spec locations undertaking scientific research activities in Needham, MA. Working with the Site Lead and a variety of teams across the business, this is a high-profile role with a significant contribution to make to the growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities
- The key responsibility will be taking ownership of all Facilities operations over Perseptive's site in Needham (MA).
- Maintain an annual facilities "calendar"
- Manage and mitigate Facilities risks by designing and implementing appropriate policies, procedures and maintenance schedules
- Manage collaborations with key stakeholders, including Laboratories, Procurement and Quality to ensure all aspects of the facilities operate smoothly and to the required standard, including but not limited to environmental health & safety and animal welfare
- Track and renew property-related permits and certifications
- Responsibility for management, pro-active repair and useful life planning of key assets and plant related to the operation of the facilities.
- Manage inventory and purchasing of facilities-related supplies, equipment and services.
- Management of vendors providing building and plant maintenance and services, and interfacing with building management.
- Management of day-to-day facilities maintenance, office moves, etc.
- Management of equipment and environmental monitoring and after-hours coverage to ensure continuous maintenance of critical functions, including animal housing environment, refrigeration, and incubators
- Management of facilities projects as they arise - expansions, alterations, moves, etc. Plans, budgets and schedules facility modifications, including cost estimates; bringing proposals to area heads/leaders for consideration and approval. Oversees the coordination of building space allocation, layout, facility expansion and construction projects, including building project teams.
- Liaise with senior members of staff as required.
- Communicate facility changes such as status of buildouts and floor renovations, office moves, as needed to keep staff informed and minimize disruption of workflow.

Functional Competencies (Technical knowledge/Skills)
- A relevant tertiary-level qualification in Facilities Management or a technical Engineering subject
- Ideally 7-10 years' experience as a Facilities Manager
- Experience managing preclinical research laboratory and vivarium space
- Experience managing a small team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sound understanding and knowledge of facilities maintenance and legislation in Massachusetts
- Excellent negotiating and drafting skills
- Strong project management skills
- Strong technical engineering skills and experience
- Strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Self-starter with ability to learn independently, proactively search for information, and able to work with all levels of the organization.
- Effectively works autonomously under pressure and takes responsibility to ensure that plans are delivered to budget and time.
