Key elements of the role:

  • Strategic Diagnostics & Insight Generation: Improve decision-making by enhancing our understanding of user behavior, product interaction, and the core drivers of business performance and growth. Execute high-quality analysis, interpret findings, and communicate them to a wide range of stakeholders. Translate insights into a clear "point of view" that defines the 'why' behind business shifts and recommends the 'what next' for leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Efficiency & AI Integration: Design and implement AI-driven workflows and automation tools to minimize manual reporting ("admin work") and maximize focus on strategic analysis ("insight work"), thereby scaling the team's output through technological leverage. Collaborate closely with the Data team.
  • Analytical Growth Planning Lead: Serve as the primary analytical engine for the growth planning process. Independently interrogate internal analytic tools (primarily Looker) and research findings to ensure management decisions are evidence-based rather than intuition-driven.
  • Executive Reporting & Monitoring: Create, build, and maintain dashboards and reporting systems for ongoing analysis and monitoring of key business metrics. Deliver compelling, digestible, and actionable performance reports that track the health of "Growth Loops" and business KPIs, providing concise updates that drive decision-making.
  • Research Operations Support: Provide the Director of User Research & Insights with essential research operations support, including survey writing, fieldwork coordination, and analysis, to scale Paperless Post’s research capabilities and capacity

You have:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience working with extensive datasets and analytical tools, demonstrating strong analytical skills.
  • Technical Skills: Adept at building reports in Looker. Experience with SQL is a plus but not required. Demonstrated experience in applying emerging AI capabilities to accelerate analytical workflows is essential.
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts, analyses, and findings in an easy-to-understand and digestible manner to non-technical team members and leadership.
  • Autonomy & Judgment: Ability to deliver routine responsibilities independently with minimal oversight, while demonstrating good judgment in knowing when to ask for support or input. Possess the tenacity to investigate issues and propose solutions with little guidance from their manager.
  • Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with team members across a wide range of functions, time zones, and geographies.
  • Organization & Prioritization: Ability to manage multiple workstreams and tasks related to several concurrent projects. Must be able to clearly identify and communicate progress and blockers, and readily share recommendations with their team, manager, and in meetings.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable with the ambiguity that is inherent in a fast-paced start-up atmosphere.
