Job Summary

As a Senior Technical Program Manager at Palo Alto Networks, you will be a pivotal liaison between the DevOps engineering group and other key teams like software and product. You will drive high-quality, on-time releases within our fast-growing Cortex product suite. This role requires a blend of deep technical domain knowledge, strong analytical skills, and a passion for driving change in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to ensure successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate end-to-end delivery of complex infrastructure and product capabilities by working closely with DevOps, SRE, and platform engineering teams.
  • Serve as the primary integration point between DevOps and development, ensuring alignment on architecture, CI/CD processes, and production readiness.
  • Collaborate with product management to translate requirements into technical execution plans, defining realistic timelines and tracking cross-team commitments.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate technical dependencies affecting infrastructure, deployment flows, monitoring, and scaling requirements.
  • Drive and define change-management processes, including release planning, risk assessments, observability readiness, and post-launch validations.
  • Coordinate sprint plans and milestones across DevOps and development organizations to ensure aligned delivery within broader program roadmaps.
  • Provide clear and concise communication to senior engineering leadership on execution status, architectural risks, and operational concerns.
  • Work directly with technical leads and architects to understand and manage deep technical topics like Kubernetes upgrades and multi-region deployments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of engineering or technical program management experience, with at least 4 years managing cross-functional infrastructure/DevOps delivery programs at scale.
  • Deep, hands-on understanding of SaaS DevOps domains, including release orchestration, CI/CD, change-management, and production readiness standards.
  • Strong familiarity with Agile methodologies, sprint planning, and managing large cross-team delivery cycles.
  • Hands-on experience with project management and collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience presenting program status, architectural risks, and operational considerations to senior leadership (SVP/VP-level).
