Job Summary

Palo Alto Networks is looking for a seasoned SW Engineering Manager to join the Idira R&D platform organization. In this role, you will lead the team responsible for the Idira SaaS micro-frontend (MFE) platform and the critical services that handle API access to Idira services.

You will manage a high-performing team of engineers, combining hands-on technical leadership with strong execution. Your team owns services that are crucial to any customer interaction with Idira services whether it is UI or API access.

• Lead and Mentor: Grow a high-performing team of engineers; foster a collaborative environment and support professional development through mentoring and technical guidance.
• Own Platform Execution: Drive the development of new features and capabilities that will allow PANW customers to have secure access to our continuously growing portfolio of Cyber Identity solutions.
• Drive AI adoption: We started our journey to become an AI first engineering organization. As a leader you will help your team continue this journey.
• Engineering Excellence: Maintain a high bar for quality, performance, and scalability. Oversee end-to-end delivery from design and implementation to production monitoring and support.
• Stakeholder Management: Communicate progress, risks, and capability roadmaps clearly to management and partner teams. Maintain the capability matrix for Idira integrations.

• Management Experience: At least 5 years of experience leading software engineering teams, with a track record of shipping complex projects and managing production systems.
• SaaS Backend Proficiency: Experience building and scaling SaaS applications and RESTful APIs. Proficiency in modern languages (e.g., Javascript, Python, or Java).
• Frontend Proficiency: Experience with FE frameworks (e.g. React, Angular) and Microfrontend technologies.
• Cloud Native: Deep understanding of cloud-native technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, and Public Cloud (AWS/GCP).
• "Shift left" Experience: Experience working with teams that own quality, support and devops for the services they are in charge of.
• AI-Assisted Development: Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude) to accelerate the software development lifecycle.
• Platform Engineering (Advantage): Experience leading or working in a platform team that provides internal services to multiple engineering teams
• Identity Domain (Advantage): Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts, entitlements, and tenant lifecycle management.
• Network Security (Advantage): Familiarity with network security concepts and services and technologies (e.g. WAF, Nginx)
• Education: BSc in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
