Job Description
The Team
Pre-Sales Engineer - We have brought a technology to market that is reshaping the security landscape. Our Systems Engineering team works hand in hand with the Sales team to help provide technical support and guidance to our customers on our products and solutions during the purchase-making process. You will identify complex security challenges in your potential customers' environments and drive solutions using our market-leading security products and services.
Job Summary
As a Domain Consultant for SOC Transformation, you will be the subject matter expert for our Cortex portfolio, a next-gen, AI-powered security operations platform. You will play a pivotal role in architecting technical solutions that align with and secure a customer's key business imperatives. In this role, you will evangelize our industry-leading solutions across XDR, SOAR, and Attack Surface Management to establish Palo Alto Networks as the customer's cybersecurity partner of choice.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively collaborate with account teams to recommend and develop customer solutions within the Cortex specialization.
- Present technical solutions and the Cortex value proposition to diverse audiences, from technical practitioners to senior leadership.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for the Cortex portfolio, leading the technical response for RFIs and RFPs.
- Lead and support compelling customer demonstrations that showcase the unique value and differentiation of our Cortex solutions.
- Scope and lead Proof of Value (PoV) projects, applying best practices to ensure a technical win and drive high validation rates.
- Architect innovative solutions that help customers strengthen and simplify their security posture using the Cortex platform.
- Lead strategic conversations on industry trends and emerging security landscapes, positioning Palo Alto Networks as a thought leader.
- Act as a key conduit for customer feedback, channeling insights to Product Management and R&D to influence product evolution.
Qualifications (Additional Job Description)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Security Operations or pre-sales/sales engineering focused on SIEM, SOAR, SOC, and/or XDR/EDR environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in Security Operations Center (SOC) processes and workflows.
- Advanced technical knowledge of SIEM and/or SOAR solutions.
- Ability to travel as required for in-person customer meetings and engagements.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with IBM QRadar design, deployment, or pre-sales is highly desirable.
- Proven experience working directly with customers, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Scripting experience, particularly with Python, is considered a plus.
