Based at Schriever Space Force Base, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.

This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, collectively monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations globally and regionally to improve performance. C2BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems.

As a senior analyst on the System Test Analysis team within the C2BMC NT, the candidate will be responsible for analyzing test event data, coordinating observations and resolutions across development and test teams within C2BMC, and assisting with coordination with the Missile Defense Agency customer and seeking a motivated data analyst to support the C2BMC National Team (NT) in analyzing missile tracking and models in the test bed and operations. This individual will be part of a focused technical team that verifies and validates metrics, statistics, and descriptive analyses of test data from Missile Defense Systems in development, in support of national security. The candidate will participate in research and analysis to identify meaningful metrics, patterns, and trends from test datasets and use statistical methods to validate or reject hypotheses about the data. Techniques may include visualization, simulation, and system modeling to achieve the desired analysis results.

Essential Functions:

Assist with planning, scheduling, and development of verification analysis tools

Assist with or support the coordination, development, and maintenance of analysis and test-tracking tools

Ensure proper backup and archiving of test products and analysis datasets (backup data manager)

Should possess technical skills to assist in the development of software tools to evaluate software, algorithms, and processes used to build the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) element of the Missile Defense System (MDS)

Wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in their field, and provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with imaginative and thorough solutions

Works under general direction, and results are reviewed upon completion to assess adequacy in meeting objectives

Failure to achieve results typically results in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources

Frequent contact with internal and external customers and representatives of the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects

The candidate should be prepared to travel as needed, though this will be less than 10%. Most work will take place at Schriever SFB

Some non-standard work hours may be required due to test event schedules

Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree

Applicants must have a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period

Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start

Willingness to travel 10% of the time for business needs

Should be able to assist test tool analysts with technical troubleshooting and analysis of test traceability

Should be able to participate in developing straightforward solutions to technical problems discovered and help develop actionable insights for C2BMC decision makers

Some experience with message-based analysis of complex systems, or other forms of analysis

Experience with object-oriented coding skills (e.g., Python, Java, etc.) or ability to learn them

Experience with the Linux environment

Preferred Qualifications:

The candidate should ideally have experience with message-based analysis and MDS elements or components, including operational systems like Aegis, Patriot, GMD, THAAD, and SBX, whether in testing or operational settings

Experience with COTS modeling, simulation, and analysis tools is also desired

Experience with using and maintaining relational databases is desired

Experience with software testing and analysis tools

Python programming experience

Bash or similar scripting experience

Strong sense of how data "tells a story."

Use of spreadsheets for data analysis and associated tools

Experience manipulating large data sets

Development of software test and analysis tools

Development and automation of data management processes and tools

Strong teamwork skills

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
