Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Engineer Systems to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.

The selected candidate will serve as a Systems Engineering leader, collaborating with Consortium and Adopting Program Chief Architects to design architecture solutions and build capability roadmaps supporting the USAF Open Architecture framework. The role requires experience in designing and developing SysML models, utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, or Mission Engineering. The candidate must have a strong grasp of traditional systems engineering concepts and methodologies, and be able to adapt these to accelerated processes in early engineering design stages. Familiarity with MBSE, agile environments, and "out of the box" thinking is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead architecture definition and complex system problem solving in support of Research and Advanced Design programs.
Lead the design, development, and documentation of systems using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Collaborate with the Chief Architect to build Systems Engineering artifacts supporting standards development for Northrop Grumman adopting programs.
Generate and present material for internal and external customer briefings.

Basic Qualifications (Staff Engineer Systems):

Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 12 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 10 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 8 year of related professional/military experience.

Must have experience developing systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering.
Must have experience leading a systems engineering team.
Must have knowledge and experience with USAF Open Architecture approaches.
Must have experience presenting to upper-level leadership.
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active Top Secret clearance.
Active SAP.
Knowledge and experience with OMS (Open Mission System Architecture Specification), UCI (Universal Command and Control Interface), and other DoD Open Architectures.
Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite and Cameo Enterprise Architecture modeling for system design.
Experience integrating complex systems across multiple domains.
Experience demonstrating concepts to management and customers.
Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
