Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Staff Embedded Software engineer with the desire to support, maintain and expand the technologies associated with airborne radar capabilities on the F-22 Raptor Program.
This position will help develop, enhance and maintain software on an existing radar platform with the ability to innovate and enhance software and hardware processing capabilities. Candidates will primarily work in C/C++ supporting all phases of the software development lifecycle.
This position is in Linthicum, MD and any individuals that apply must be able to work onsite.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Identify risks, suggest mitigation, track defects, develop resolutions, and report status.
Provide recommendations for software architecture and design.
Develop and execute unit tests and build verification test plans, and track and report test status.
Conduct reviews of software related products, software designs, and additional technical documents.
Actively participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPT), design reviews, and other reviews, as required.
Actively participate in the technical peer reviews to ensure system/software requirements are being met from an end-to-end system point of view.
This position is contingent upon the ability to obtain an active DoD Secret Clearance or the successful transfer of an active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start.
Basic Qualifications for the Staff Embedded Software Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience, master's degree with 10 years of experience, Ph.D. with 8 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
U.S Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance prior to starting.
Ability to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Strong communication skills.
Expertise in C/C++.
Experience working in Ada.
Proficiency in working with real-time embedded software.
Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance is required.
Ability to provide technical leadership for a team of software engineers.
Preferred Qualifications:
An Active DoD Secret clearance.
Experience in real-time embedded software development for applications in Radar technology.
Experience in algorithmic application development and optimization.
Experience with VxWorks Operating Systems.
Experience with Visual Studio.
Experience with Matlab.
Experience with Coverity .
* Experience with the IBM Rational (ClearCase and ClearQuest) and Atlassian tool set, specifically JIRA and Confluence.

Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $244,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
