Located in Huntsville, AL, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key part of the Missile Defense System. It allows the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders to plan missile defense operations, monitor battles, and control sensors and weapon systems worldwide. C2BMC supports layered missile defense for threats across all ranges and flight phases. It enhances performance by networking and synchronizing sensors and weapon systems globally and regionally. C2BMC is required for all ground and flight tests that verify missile defense capabilities.
This position is for a Software Engineer on the C2BMC program. The candidate will be responsible for software development in Java for the Regional Applications team in Huntsville, AL and supporting the Track Server team. Under minimal direction, provides specialized expertise across multiple systems and software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, application implications, and customer areas.
Essential Functions:

Responsible for in-depth analysis, support, design, testing, and user support of systems software, including problem resolution and integration

Maintains currency, debugs, and configures related software products

Works from specifications to develop or modify operating system applications

Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs

Works with other system support groups to solve issues, set standards, and boost OS efficiency

Designs, codes, tests, and implements tools for operations automation

Work on most phases of software systems programming applications, and may require minor instruction and guidance in other phases
